three and three and three. day 2.

A Momma’s View invited me to participate in the three-day-three-quote thingy (still making up my own names for stuff). Thanks again for thinking of me! [Rules at bottom of post.]

Day Two – House, MD edition

house md.
People don’t get what they deserve. They just get what they get.
There’s nothing any of us can do about it.

house md.
Come on, I’d have to act like a decent human being and you know what a strain that puts on me.

My personal favorite:
house.
I’m pretty sure I’m not going to like you. It’s nothing personal. I don’t like anybody.

Tomorrow… I think they will be song lyrics…

Three rules:
• Thank the person who nominated you.
• Post 1-3 quotes for 3 consecutive days.
• Nominate 3 blogs each day for 3 consecutive days.
. [Well, I pretty much never do the nominating part… I don’t want anyone to feel obligated… sometimes I don’t even participate… so play along if you feel like it… or just laugh at my quotes.]

three and three and three. day 1.

I’ve been invited by A Momma’s View to participate in the three-day-three-quote thingy (yes, I make up my own names for stuff). Thanks for thinking of me!

One quote came to mind immediately so I’ve decided to go with it And since I seem to have a problem shutting up, you know I’m going to do three each day.

Day One – Homer Simpson edition

simpsons.Lisa: Yeah Dad, you’re always telling me and Bart to apologize.
Homer: Yeah, but I’m always secretly disappointed when you do.

homer.Homer: Maybe, just once, someone will call me ‘Sir’ without adding, ‘You’re making a scene.’

homer.Marge: Homer, is this the way you pictured married life?
Homer: Yeah, pretty much. Except we drove around in a van solving mysteries.

Tomorrow… well, I’ve got a theme in mind, but I don’t want to ruin it for you.

tiny bits.

write. For a couple of weeks a few months ago, I was slightly active on twitter. I haven’t spent much time there lately, but when I did, I wrote a bunch of tiny poems suitable for tweeting… mostly haiku since, of course, they easily fit the 140-character limit.

Of course, I saved my tiny poetry… because I save everything. (And then I can never find anything…)

These weren’t written together… but they were written in the order they appear here (with others written between). I like the way they (kind of) work together.

I want some attention:

Where are all the boys?
My day has become boring…
With the same old toys.

swash.

I want delicious attention:

Your whispers tempt me
And your smile drives me crazy.
Your kiss may kill me.

swash.

I’m going to give you attention:

You know I want you
My sweet delicious craving.
Let me have a taste…

a quick question!

This will be a very short post. Maybe the shortest I’ve ever posted…

If I have a coupon for my local-ish ‘Used Book Superstore‘ that expires on 6/31/16, does that mean it’s good forever… since 6/31 is never coming… ever… in any year? [insert sarcastic smile here]

forever discount.

Maybe I will ask.

the truth.

the truth.

I trust you
I believe your words
You listen
You understand me
I open up
I give you all of me
You whisper
But you keep some things
Locked inside
And I am desperate
For the key
I want your secrets
Every one
‘Share yourself’ I ask
But you cannot
Because something is missing
The truth

puzzle.

puzzle.

I am a puzzle
with thousands of pieces.
I may never finish
getting myself together
and I may lose a few pieces
along the way
but maybe I’ll only
lose the edges
not the insides.

weekly perk. #22

weekly perk.

I apologize in advance for being such an annoying mom. But I just couldn’t help myself with this.

When I arrived home with the kids after school today (last day), they handed me all kinds of papers and folders and such. [I have no idea what I’m going to do with all of it, but being the person I am, I’m sure I’ll keep it all. I have a problem.] Included in their piles of stuff were their report cards.

report card.

Both of my kids received one A (94-96%). And five A+’s (97-100%). I know… it’s just elementary school (grades 5 and 2) but I don’t care… they are amazing. I love these kids so much. They care about school and they want to be the best at everything. [Hell, I have to caution my son because he’s apt to be too hard on himself. Sorry, kid… my fault. Damn genetics.]

My daughter also got a special award, hand-delivered from the principal, for being one of only two students in the whole school with perfect attendance.

I will stop gushing over my kids now. I promise. Hmm… until my son kicks my ass at mini-golf. Then he’ll want me to tell the world.
