School starts in ten days. The pool water is getting cooler. I think my summer of many escape-trips is coming to an end.
It’s hard to believe I used to hate summer. Spring is my favorite, but summer comes in second. And just in case you were wondering—winter is third and fall is the worst. I used to love fall but I don’t know why. It’s depressing as fuck. Days get shorter. Everything is darker and colder and dying. It’s the opposite of spring… the opposite of happy.
I’ll save all the other things that suck about fall for another post. For now, I’ll leave you with a few [less than exciting] pictures from my [maybe] last summer ‘trip‘.
p.s. – I hate this post.

I like this post!! We are about 16 days away from school right now if I’ve counted correctly in my head. I love pictures of your mom’s backyard. She always has the most beautiful flowers!

She’s so good at that stuff… I wish I had inherited that!

I used to love fall when I was in school. It always seemed like a new beginning and I just loved getting new pens and spiral notebooks and folders! Now I’m just sad to see summer end knowing that the cold is coming. And I wonder why I always wanted a new beginning?

I did like getting new school supplies. Why is that, I wonder? I was one of those weird kids who liked going back to school… kind of. But I really hate fall now…

Fall is my favorite season, but I don’t like what’s coming next. 🙃 In Toronto, cold and icky without snow is the worst. That’s November. Gross month.
But September and October are my favorite!

It just starts getting too dark and everything starts dying. I find it so depressing. Plus if I see one more ‘pumpkin spice’ anything, I’m going to be sick… lol

Those coleus are gorgeous! I like the very beginning of the summer, but it always gets too hot too fast!

It does get too hot. And I hate the humidity. But air conditioning helps… as does iced coffee… and Mom’s pool!

I always dreaded fall because school started. I was the nervous little kid that threw up every first day of school. Right on through high school – no joke. Wah wah… Now I like fall because I prefer the cooler weather and the clothes. And I will not miss sweating! I will miss the pool, however. The flowers are beautiful! I think I’d miss your mom’s backyard oasis, too!

I loved school. Total nerd, I guess. I do like cooler weather… but I much prefer those first days of spring when it gets warm enough to skip the winter coats and scarves and such. Probably not much difference in temperature from fall… but in spring, things are growing and blooming. Fall just gets darker and deader… it makes me very depressed. Like, more than usual.

Well for me being smart and getting good grades meant getting picked on… I guess I really love all the seasons. I’m ready for things to change by the end of each one. I hope you get through the fall without getting too blue. ❤️

Thanks. ♥ Oh, and I just hung out with the other “goodies” as they used to call us…

You made me laugh. Twice. I love this post. The images are beautiful, especially the bright yellow flowers. As for autumn, I LOVE IT! The cooler temps, the brilliant colors of fall, sweaters, and boots. Winter, I can do without. And the only thing I like about summer is summer break. LOL! Far too hot!

I’m glad I made you laugh. Thanks for saying that. I used to love fall… but it truly depresses me now! I like summer… but not like I love spring.
