my favorite word. #socs

This week’s prompt for ‘Stream of Consciousness Saturday‘ (no editing, etc…) is my favorite word. I know it’s already Sunday for many… it’s 1:30am here. But whatever.

[If you are easily offended or don’t like foul language, you may want to skip this post…]

When I saw this prompt, only one word came to mind… but I have already written a post about that word. I was going to pick a different one but no other word comes close… so here is the already-written post: F─CK

But then I thought I should write something new anyway. But then I got stuck because I can’t seem to write anything good lately. But I guess this being the stream of consciousness post, droning on with whatever thoughts come to mind is acceptable. But I should probably stop starting every sentence with ‘but‘.

So… my other ‘favorite‘ word is romance.

But I have a love/hate relationship with that word.

I don’t like cheesy. Well, not what’s cheesy to me.

I don’t like clichés. Unless the context makes them seem like they are not clichés. (Don’t ask me to explain that… I don’t think I can.)

And I hate that I have no romance in my life.

So maybe it’s my least favorite word. Now I’m torn…

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

I had a major ADHD moment reading this post and laughed. This is about what my stream of consciousness is doing right now. You see, right before opening up my web browser and falling back into WordPress reader, I was just sitting here in a quiet room, lights on, staring at my computer’s home screen, with no thought at all. Just blank. My son came into the room and asked what I was doing with a small mumble of laughter escaping his lips. Which no doubt snapped me back to consciousness. So here I am back on the computer so as not to look dumb to my kid, opening up WordPress and the first thing I see is this post. Well F U C K… if it didn’t make me laugh!

I prefer the word “fork” to you know… and I love romance. I know what you mean about cheesy and maybe my romance writes may be cheesy. I don’t know. I just know that I like to mix the sensual with the sweet.

You can have all kinds of romance while not having romance. Dreaming is one way and that is often my way. Day dreaming works too. I do a lot of that. LOL!

This post made me smile. You are witty when you’re torn. LOL!

Hope you will find happiness, peace and romance soo. Sending hugs your way. I know sometimes even I feel like the whole world is a scam
I don’t need to be in it and suffer. There is nothing good that will last. I feel defeated and give up for sometime. I walk around being grumpy about how nothing seems to work. Life is unfair and blah blah. Fighting and yelling and all. This goes on for sometime. Until I find something good to do. After few days, there is always a light in the corner. No matter how much I try to neglect it but eventually I go for it. Hope you find yours soon. Till then know you are really brave because you are holding on and be grumpy. Do whatever it takes to lessen your built up tension.

    • Thank you so much for this comment. I really needed it. I know exactly the feelings you’re talking about. ♥ I don’t feel brave… I feel pathetic. I really hope I can find a light somewhere. I need one.

I know you won’t feel it but keep it in mind somewhere. Because I know you are. Much power to you to get through it.

My favorite word is ‘escape’ because it can be interpreted literally or figuratively. Escape through books or film or some other fiction. And escape to another place on this earth. I wish the latter was the case, but I settle for the former! Hope this is an ok day for you. ❤️

    • That’s a good one. The first thing I think of when I hear ‘escape’ is escape from prison. I wonder what that says about me…? 🙂

I can tell you my least favorite word though. The source of so so much stress. Money.

Escape from prison – well The Shawshank Redemption is one of my very favorite movies and Andy Dufresne is one of my favorite fictional characters in a story of poetic justice. That’s a triple dose of awesome! 😃

Yes, ‘money’ is only a good word when you have plenty of it, otherwise it is definitely a source of stress. They say it doesn’t buy happiness but I think it can at least alleviate a whole lot of unhappiness!

Haha! That was a fun post. 😀 I know what you mean about cheesy romance. As a romance writer, I’m capable of writing them but I don’t. …if you know what I mean. 😛 Haha.

Ha! Everyone who knows me knows that f*ck is also one of my favourite words to say. My actual favourite word is “ethereal”. I just like the way it sounds!

There are so many words. But, yet, and however, many of us share that one affinity for the ubiquitous f-bomb. Yes we do.

Sorry you’re going through a down time. I like your two words, though. I like putting them together as a phrase even more — fuck romance or romance fuck. Cuz sometimes you feel like a fuck and sometimes you don’t! Love your posts!
