m is for metaphor. #atozchallenge

hug.

m is for metaphor.

I could find a metaphor
For what you give to me
But I don’t need one
I could say you’re the flowers
In full bloom by the fence
Bringing a smile to my face
I could say you’re the moonlight
Glowing in the dark sky
Lighting my evening stroll
I could say you’re the window
Open to the warm breeze
Filling my lungs with life
I could find a metaphor
For what you give to me
But you already know

weekly perk. #12

weekly perk.

I walked out my front door yesterday and saw a mysterious giant glowing orb in the sky. Initially, I thought I needed to call for emergency backup. But then I remembered what that weird blinding light was.

The Sun.

Oh, I exaggerate. It hasn’t been raining for that long. But damn, it feels like it’s been gray for weeks. It has really been bringing me down. It’s had help from other junk, sure. But enough already!

So yesterday afternoon, once finished with my bi-annual parent-teacher conferences, I spent a little time outside. With no jacket… which was not appropriate. Sure, the sun was finally out but it was only 50°(F). I didn’t really care. I just wanted to document the sun in case it disappears again and I have to describe it to future generations.

[Side perk – Both of my kids are smart little angels in school. A or A+ for everything, kind, helpful, conscientious, polite… I walk out of there feeling like parent of the year! And then I get home and they’re fighting about who touched whom first. Bahahaa!]

Sunshine.

See?! Shadows! The sun makes those. (Yes, I know my lawn is terribly dead.)

chairs.

The daffodils… they were all perky for, oh, a day… then they drooped with the rain. But they’re still bright. And yellow. I dislike yellow. But… flower.

daffodil.

Behind our house, we have a messy, woodsy drop that lands at the edge of a giant pond. Besides the raging squirrel population back there, we often see geese, ducks, blue jays, cardinals, a really f-ing annoying woodpecker, rabbits, deer, and I’m probably forgetting something else we’ve seen. But today, it just looks dead. Spring hasn’t yet made it green and pretty but I still love looking at the water.

backyard.

I nearly blinded myself for this one. I know, I’m brilliant. But… the sun! Our GIANT pine tree… and the sun. And the vapor trail left behind by a jet. [Or vapour trail for the Brits… and Ride (see below)]

sunshine.

I suppose I must concede that even Ms. Darkness (that’s me) loves sunshine.

Here’s the Vapour Trail

Perky. It melts in your mouth not in your hand.

l is for love. and lust. #atozchallenge

Choose just one for L? I couldn’t do it. Oh, and yes, I know I’m totally predictable. ♥

hands.

l is for love.

Silly things about me
Bring your smile every time
Like my always-cold hands
And the way my fingers
Tuck my hair behind my ear
Unknowingly
I will never know
Why these little things
Melt your heart
But I will always adore
The way your smile tells me
You are in love

lust.

l is for lust.

Your arms around me
My legs around you
Your mouth on mine
My hands on you
Your lips on my neck
My moans in your ear
Your love feeding me
My love taking you in
Our bodies entwined
Our lust satisfied
devil.

darkness: a limerick.

darkness.

darkness.
Darkness is what I love about me
And it doesn’t mean I’m not happy
Maybe a little madness
But it’s nothing like sadness
And I know no other way to be

k is for kiss. #atozchallenge

I think you knew K would be for kiss. ♥

kiss.

k is for kiss.

her: I’ll be waiting in nothing but a soft white sheet…
……and a smile.

him: You’ll have to lose the sheet, of course…
……the smile can stay.

her: And then I can have a kiss?

him: And then you can have a kiss.

her: Long and deep and hungry…
……the way I like it?

him: Yes and the way I like it…
……naked.

her: I’ll have to touch your face…
……my fingers in your hair.

him: You’ll tug on my it, pull me closer
……because you know I love it.

her: Because you are delicious and
……I always want more.

him: And I always give you more
……because you are delicious.

her: You.

him: You.

her: Can I suck your lip between mine…
……and bite you?

him: Yes please… and when you let me go…
……I will taste you again.

her: I love your mouth, your tongue…
……and your teasing.

him: And if my tongue does this to your mouth…
……just imagine.

her: Oh. Honey. Will you be here soon?
……please come now.

him: Running out the door. I want this kiss now…
……take off your clothes.

j is for jaded. #atozchallenge

jaded.

j is for jaded.

Jason won me with spontaneity
No plans, no bed. He only needed the floor.
Joe was older… sexy as hell
He took me to dinner and then he took more.
Jesse was irresistibly charming
Delicious kisses on my neck made me give in.
Jay brought flowers… such romance
But later that night we were bathing in sin.
Jeff drove me mad with his teasing
It took barely an hour before we were naked.
Such fun I had in those wild years
No inhibitions, no regrets and never jaded.

[part truth, part fiction… I’ll never tell how much of either…]

i is for illusion. #atozchallenge

My a-to-z theme is supposed to be small. My posts have been that. But, let’s face it… my real theme is poetry. I pretty much figured this would happen, but I thought I’d come clean and admit it. I hope you’re enjoying my alphabet.

illusion.

i is for illusion.

Born from imagination
Reality could never match
The vision in her mind
He was not supposed to exist
She invented him from dreams
Yet his lines were perfect
Spoken in deepest whispers
Like he read from a script
Of the very words she wrote
She reveled in the illusion
But weakness and greed stepped in
Imagination tainted
Anticipation gone
Illusion shattered
Desperate for the fantasy
Was better than having it
