m is for metaphor.
I could find a metaphor
For what you give to me
But I don’t need one
I could say you’re the flowers
In full bloom by the fence
Bringing a smile to my face
I could say you’re the moonlight
Glowing in the dark sky
Lighting my evening stroll
I could say you’re the window
Open to the warm breeze
Filling my lungs with life
I could find a metaphor
For what you give to me
But you already know

About what sandra thinks
Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.
Excellent. Never gave us the metaphor, but this was perfect. Love the opening as well as your end. (Well, the end of the poem that is). Great M word too.

Thank you. This was another top and bottom and then middle…. The opening and then the ending were written and then I filled in the middle.

So I should get my shit together and run off this weekend to find me a sexy romantic man who doesn’t mind a slightly older, somewhat used up woman? Sigh A girl can dream…

Aww…. No, I was thinking, babysitter for the kids… Get the husband drunk and have your way with him! 😉

He doesn’t drink either. F..k, we are boring. I’m also kind of irritated with him at the moment… in case that wasn’t obvious…lol Sorry I am a big fat downer. But right now, I’d rather just be the babysitter…or hang out with her instead… 😦

Oh sweetie, don’t apologize! You know me… happy endings and all! Everybody has relationship struggles, even the happiest marriages. I get it… xo

Thanks… I think I’m just sick of it! And me too with the happy endings… maybe I expect too much since my fantasy life is so active…

Lovely and surprising; a poem about a metaphor with no metaphor. I loved it.

What do you use for them?

I have an old “free” (shh) copy of PaintShopPro (it’s over 10 years old). I wish I could use (and teach myself to use… because I have little experience) Photoshop and Illustrator but they are WAY too much $. You can’t even just buy them outright anymore — you have to pay monthly. I hate that! You’re paying forever! I have heard and looked at some online free tools that are supposed to do most of the same stuff but I haven’t tried them for more than a few seconds. I just keep going back to my archaic software because I know how to use it so well… 🙂

Oh, I understand. The only reason I have it is because it was 20 bucks for the entire suite when I was in college (special student discount). There’s no way I could have afforded it otherwise.
