From the moment we met
I knew
you were bad for me.
The way you stared
and made my insides scream
would be my ruining.
I knew
you would hurt me.
And I would never recover
from the shattered heart
you would leave behind
I knew
It was going to happen.
And I let you do it anyway.

About what sandra thinks
Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.
It’s hard to resist sometimes. 😏

I can think of a few times I’d have been better off just walking the opposite direction. Did it anyway…and paid the price. It sucks sometimes to have a second brain that overrides a good decision. 😏

I’ve done it, too… knowing I shouldn’t the whole time. I guess I have a second brain, too, but not the guy kind. 😀

Wait! Of course it’s like the “guy” kind…In many ways, at least. 😃

Yeah… it is. But women aren’t known to think with ‘that’ like men are. Of course, that’s just a cliche… stereotype… which is totally wrong. Or I’m more like a dude than I realize. 😀

You ALL are! Myth, indeed. Now, y’all may have more natural self-control, granted. But not always. 😏

Oh the treacherous heart…. right? Brain can tell you a million reasons to run in the other direction but the heart wants what the heart wants!

Thanks… You know, it’s weird… I have been in a slump for so long that I still feel like everything I write sucks… but I keep posting them anyway to see what others think since I am far from objective with my own writing. (Although I can’t imagine anyone would come right out and say, “hey, this sucks.” 🙂

Hahahaha! No probably not, but trust me you’re back in the groove! Keep posting!

Heartbreaking… this is me so many many times. It’s wondeful so feel such a pure adoration of someone but the pain of unrequited or even flat our rejected affection is a pain of truest horrors.
You’ve captured these moments well… too well for someone who deserves happiness ♥

Thanks… you’re very sweet. ♥
Sometimes, it’s impossible to resist even when you know it’s a bad idea… when you know it’s not going to end well. Maybe the high moments are worth the resulting pain… or maybe not. I think I change my mind about that often…

Resisting the impossible is a apt description of any romantic.
I’m not sure the pain is ever offset by the highs of love…. even if they are pretty great.
Romantics are what they are, extremes of emotions and always dangerous
sometimes we just have to love dangerously ♥

And a tee shirt. 😀 I’d wear that.

I’ll write the poem and you market the shirt 😄 Sounds like we both have a new project to work on 😊

I’m going to do it. Maybe it’ll be a hot seller for Valentine’s Day… the shirt, I mean. Although you can try to sell the poem, too.

I’m not quite at the stage where I can sell my work… maybe soon but I’m just happy to write for now 😄

It’s amazing how similar our experiences can be and how others have the ability to capture the events of a lifetime in a few words. Beautiful. My soul resonates.
