You might not want to hear this but…I LIKE IT! Chopped up finely and added to mashed potatoes with salt pepper and lots of butter…mmmm. It’s a Dublin thing 😉

Ummm Lots of butter and potatoes, salt, pepper… What’s the Kale for 🙂

Exactly my point! 😃 No one REALLY likes it. I don’t know anyone who’d sit there with a bowl of it… because ick.

It’s not a veg I’d eat on it’s own….ewwww

I feel that way about broccoli. I will eat it in things but not alone. But if people ask me if I like broccoli, I say no. I only like it with/in other stuff… so I don’t *really* like it. Anyway… it was just meant to be a funny post. 🙂

haha, I get you, but sorry I like brocolli on its own…heehee

I don’t care if people do like it… 🙂 I’m sure your not the only one. It just became this anything trendy thing and no one would shut up about it, most saying it was awful. Anyway, I know this isn’t factual, of course.

Nothing trendy about it. I’ve been eating curly kale since I was a nipper 😉

Around here, it became the trendy health food thing a little while back. You started to see recipes and suggestions to add it to *everything*…

I like kale, with some bacon mixed in and a bit of vinegar. Now, if it’s cooked to mush? No thanks. 😜

I think what you like is Bacon.

Well, duh! Who doesn’t like bacon? But I’ll eat kale even without the bacon…unless it’s cooked to mush. Then no. Bacon or not. 😃

Your the second person who said that! I really do, bacon or not. Unless is it’s mush. Then I’ll pass. The bacon just makes it better! 😃

I think J is feeding you some other green and telling you it’s Kale!

I’d be ok with that…but brownies would be my preference. 😃

Okay. I will keep that in mind and not open the package in front of the children. 🙂

Well, it’d likely be an early night for them if they got a hold of the brownies. Better than Benadryl! 😃

Hahahaa. It may be the only thing that works for my daughter. Hm… maybe you’re onto something. I’M KIDDING (for you and anyone else who may read this… lol). I would never let my kids have that… at least not at their current ages. 🙂

Hahaha! I assumed not. Not would I. We’ve had that talk already, but when they’re older, my advice is gonna be be what my dad told me: no pills, no powders, if it grows in the ground you’re likely ok, and all things in moderation. I’d be a total hypocrite if I told them to never ever. For right now, at their impressionable ages, it’s firm. No! But, as they get older, a more honest discussion will be in order.

I think it’s good not to take oneself too seriously about anything. Much less stressful. But, you can write. 😃

I guess. I think my lack of ideas lately is making me think I’m really no good at it. Even if I can write… I need something about which to write… and I’ve got nothing. Still trying to finish my “L” rant… which isn’t coming out as much of a rant… I hate it but I don’t know what else to write… 😦

Just add your spin, and whatever you write about will be great. 😊

Well, not every piece can based in present mindset, right? Writing is based on either imagination, past experience, or current situations. I’ll bet whatever you write, peeps will be able to relate, happy or sad. Just do your thang, man. 😊

Oh… and bacon makes everything better… so I don’t think this counts. Hahaha 😛

Ok, ok. You’re now the third person to say this. Dang it, y’all! It’s still kale. Even with bacon. Just like going to a Pink Floyd concert is awesome…but with an “enhancer” it’s even better! It’s the same with kale! Good on its own, but even better when “enhanced”.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! 😃

I grew love lots of greens when I lived in New Orleans. Soul food kicks ass. We have a great little hole in the wall place here too, and greens are a staple. Must be an acquired taste, but when cooked properly, they’re smack your momma good. 😃

Kale is awful. It’s basically the Kardashians of vegetables. Everyone consumes it and likes it because everyone else consumes it and likes it, but those of us who knows what’s up see it for it really is – awful.

Kale is gross. The only way I’ll eat it is processed in a smoothie. And the only reason I eat it is for it’s nutrition. And even then I don’t manage to choke it down that often. And you’re right, everyone who says they like kale is lying!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I think so… because if you like it, you should be able to eat a bowl of it. Plain. Gross.

I think you’re right. I have a few recipes that use kale (or other greens) and I don’t love it. I like it OK. I’ll eat it in recipes, especially stir-fries and soups, or cooked down and tossed with balsamic. But alone? meh.
Of course this is like coffee in a way. Do you “like” it if you don’t drink it black?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah. I will drink coffee black… but I usually add a splash of cream or milk. But I think the thing with coffee is that I like the flavor… coffee flavored anything. But I don’t know that anyone seeks out kale-flavored things. Sounds like most want to camouflage the taste! 🙂
