Why?

I do love the taste of coffee. I love coffee-flavored anything. Ice cream. Brownies. Cake. Chocolate. Milk. Mm… coffee milk. (Yes, I did grow up in RI… coffee milk is our thing…)

So maybe I don’t hate decaf. I mean, it still tastes like coffee. I guess there is a point… you know, delicious. I guess caffeine isn’t necessary. [Hahahaha… yeah, I heard it, too. Must wipe hysterical-laughter-induced tears.] Without the caffeine buzz (for which I require at least 4 cups at this point)… it’s just not the same.

drink you under the table.There are far worse addictions, right? At least this one is legal and relatively inexpensive. Unless you go to Starbucks where the prices are stupid high. They can bite me. Their coffee isn’t even very good. I wish they hadn’t run all the little one-off coffee houses out of business. Things were so much better then. Wow, I never realized how much I hate Starbucks.

Of course, in case of emergency, I will drink any coffee I can get my hands on. I can’t go without. Unless I want a big fat headache. Unless I want to become even more of a bitch than usual. A frightening prospect, really.

Now put down that decaf and get yourself a real cup of coffee.

    Totally agree about Starbucks! I don’t get those people who buy 3+ cups of coffee from there on a daily basis. Even if I was a billionaire I would never. They’re coffee isn’t that great. Totally agree about decaf too. 🙂

      Sometimes I think I’m the only one who isn’t a Starbucks-lover! I don’t get it either. Those bottled frappuccinos… I could drink by the case… but those just taste like melted coffee ice cream. And the ice cream is cheaper! 🙂

        Totally agree about the bottled frapps! They’re nothing special. I only ever buy them when they’re half price in stores 😂. I think Starbucks is one of those things that people are indoctrinated to like. The commercials, the way it’s mentioned by everyone, the way they basically franchised coffee stores… coffee is coffee at the end of the day!

          Exactly. It’s almost a pretentious thing, I think. Starbucks sounds like you’re fancier than someone who says they’re getting their coffee at McDonalds, you know? But McDs coffee is good! Not that there’s any coffee I turn down… 🙂

    I only drink coffee when I have a headache or if someone offers me some so I would never drink decaf. It’s not that good! I do love coffee ice cream but I can’t eat ice cream. 😔

    Coffee keeps the narcolepsy at bay. I have; two Keurig’s in my house, I have a pot that also has a self serve baby filter on the side. When I’m out I get coffee at convenience stores, here in NY it’s 7-11, I should own stock.

    I also, personally think that “Decaf” is some made up word.

    It’s always fun to read your posts Sandra and nice to see peoples started hating such big chains due to their high price without much taste. I think decaf coffee idea is for who drink coffee as hobby, not for addictors* like us. Who need a kick in their coffee. Between I stopped buying coffee from big chains, instead sometime buy with local café’s, the coffee taste better and suits my pockets too. But mostly I go with my grinder brewer system for a quick strong coffee. Sandra, which machine you prefer for your cup of Joe?
