coming soon.

[My apologies if the title of this post was misleading. I know you thought it was about an upcoming theatrical release. Or something. I also hope you’ll quickly realize this is not an especially serious post… just fun.]

coming soon.

June is my birthday month. The exact date is 6/11/whatever year makes me 29-ish.

[Weird fact: my daughter is a little clone of me… her birthday is 11/6… the reverse of mine… freaky!]

Why do I bring up the joyous date of my birth (which I’m sure my mom did not think was joyous around 9 o’clock that morning)? Clearly, it’s because I am incredibly considerate and want to give you ample shopping time.

I thought of making a wish list, but that never works out. I have the same problem at Christmas. Besides, the real gift is the sentiment… someone taking the time to think about me enough to choose just the thing. Infinitely better than him/her just grabbing something I asked for… like a new muffin tin… while at Target… picking up some tp. [FYI, I do not need a new muffin tin. However, you may commence calling me ‘muffin’ if you must.]

cupcake.    cupcake.    cupcake.

So… you’ve got 10 shopping days until my birthday!

If you’ve been around my blog for a while (or even if you haven’t), you ‘know’ me to some extent. [Possibly better than some people in my offline life…]

And I’m curious… What birthday gift you would give me? Tell me in the comments! No hurry… no pressure… you’ve got 10 days. [And of course, you can play my silly little birthday game or not… but I think it would be fun if you did.]

Oh, by the way, as you will not actually be purchasing said gift, the possibilities are limitless…

[Aside: I apologize if this post makes me seem like a selfish, self-centered crazy woman. I just thought it would be fun… and it may teach me something about myself…!]

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy, too. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

I told my friends I have imaginary friends and I love them all at least we are there for one another

Happy almost 29th birthday! (that year would be 1987 btw, same as me ;)) I think you’d need a really fantastic, high end, coffee machine for your house since you love coffee! Or perhaps just some wine – everyone loves wine yes? Or mayhaps an all inclusive paid vacation to the tropical destination of your choice?

    • I’ll take it all! And I wish I was your age… 😛 I mean, yay! We are the same age!!! 😀

I do love my coffee… and I don’t drink often but wine would probably counteract my coffee habit a bit. And I could definitely use a vacation! I may be boring with my non-original wish, but I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii…

  3. Well, muffin, an early happy birthday wish to you! I would love it if we could go to Maui sometime, if I can talk hubby into letting me have the timeshare for a girls’ only week. I will begin working on that immediately and we will collect some blogging friends and make plans for the future! It may take me a year or two to convince him but I’ll do my best… 🙂

  4. Happy early birthday! And I would probably get you wine, although leather does pop into mind as well… Maybe both! A bottle of wine and a leather jacket! 😄

I’d say coffee, a nice journal/blank notebook, or coffee. 😃

I was gonna say a vacation, but you’ve got enough of those already. So I’d get you a pretty potted plant for your workspace. I’ve seen your desk in one of your earlier posts and adore it. A little green would be even more fun! 🙂 And HBD Muffin.
Oh and you can have a vacay to a tropical island too !

As many have already mentioned, you seem to love coffee. But I think you also have a bit of a sensual (dare I say erotic?) side. So I’m shipping you off to a parallel universe (so no betrayals actually take place) to an exotic island for the Battle of the Baristas! There’ll be an Italian, a Brazilian, a Columbian and a Frenchman and their job is to seduce you with their special blends and ‘expertise’ – it can be like an episode of the the bachelorette! Whoever you decide is the winner is your present 😉

Hey Sandra, I remember you saying a while ago you’d like a hot guy with a boat, so that’s what I’d get you. A date with a hot guy who owned a luxury yacht and a speed boat who could take you water skiing for the ultimate thrill ride and then wine and dine you afterwards on a desert island. Plus I’d throw in a coffee machine but, without reading all the other comments, I’d say you’ve probably already got a few of those by now. 🙂

  11. Ah later to the party and all the good gifts have been given already! How about London? Or maybe a trip with The Doctor? 😀 You know I want in on all the shenanigans… I’ll pay my own way! 😀 Love ya, Muffin!

  13. Ok trip to Maui, hot men, diamond rings, journal, coffee, The doctor. ..pretty much everything I had in mind for you seems to be taken, Muffin! Let’s see…what about a genie in a bottle that you can use anytime you need a wish fulfilled? 😉
Happy 29th in advance, muffin 😀

  14. I give you three days.

One day at the spa receiving treatments of your choice

Two days at a plush resort resting, relaxing, and writing on your brand-new, whippety-quick laptop. The room has wine, chocolate, and a pool boy. Because…pool boy.
