Remember to smile
when the camera
snaps that picture
of you with him
Remember to smile
when he wraps you
in his warm arms
and pulls you close
Remember to smile
for the camera
because you may
not know it yet
but this picture
will be
the last

About what sandra thinks
Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

It’s just a poem, dude! 🙂 I’m starting to think people are taking my words a little to seriously? Literally? Anyway… this was just inspired by a song. Plus I write dark better than light… even with a title like ‘smile.’

Still sad, fiction or not. Dude. 😃😃

I know. I was kind of going for some irony with the title… everyone probably thought I wrote something happy. Silly. 😛 😀

You definitely accomplished what you were going for with the title. 👍🏻

Is that a photo you took, by the way? I’d kinda like to see your photographic eye, and perspective….ya’ know, from the dark side. 😃

😀 It’s not my picture. I wish it was because it’s really cool. It’s just a public domain image I found. My photography is nowhere near as good as yours… and as my camera has aged, I mostly use my phone. What kind of picture do you want to see?

I don’t know. Nothing specific, anything in general. When I see other people’s photos, especially people who are creative in general, it gives me an idea of their mindset, perspective, etc. Like a window into their mind or something, ya’ know? I bet it’s the same for writers, especially poetry. It may be fictional, but it comes from a certain place. I see that in others’ pics, whether they’re photographers or not. And, good pics are not directly related to equipment. It’s the eye that makes it a good pic. 😊
