some days
the sun hides behind clouds
the clouds hide behind grey
the sky falls a little darker
the air is too thin
or too thick
it never matters which
the rain lingers above
or crashes down
it never matters which
either way I cry
a drizzle of tears
or a deluge
it never matters which
and I search
for love
or peace
or happiness
it never matters which
because I cannot find
love
or peace
or happiness
some days
I live among the clouds
I hide behind the grey
I fall a little darker
and I wonder
if it is time to stop
chasing the light
that I will never reach
This is a beautifully written poem, it flows so well. It is so very sad and bleak, however… I wish the sun would come out from behind the clouds today. xo

Thank you… I was not feeling great last night when I wrote it…
The literal sun is fucking bright today. And my entire yard… path, driveway, doorsteps… all covered in ice because we changed to rain yesterday…. then the temp went down to 15 last night. It’s recovered to a whopping 19. Good times.

That’s where we’re at today too. Melted and then refrozen. Thank god for the wood stove – it’s only 20!

What a wonderful poem. I know it’s sad, but I love the flow of it ❤

Thanks, Diane. ❤ I find that they flow well when I just write the whole thing in one breath, so to speak, and then edit if I think I need to… That’s what I did here.

Never stop chasing the light! Elusive? Seem out of reach? Maybe. But never stop chasing it.

If you said “keep reaching for the stars,” I was gonna lose it! 😛

I know, I know. I figured you’d tell me to shut the fuck up….or laugh at the inanity, one or the other. It’s a terrific poem, even though sad. 😊

Thanks. It’s okay… I’ve come to expect a gross level of perkiness from you. And I mean that in the nicest possible way! ☺

I also love the flow of this piece. Sad, but there’s a tinge of hope within.

Thanks… I admit, I wasn’t feeling much hope when I wrote it. I like that you see a trace of it. Maybe it means I do have it somewhere in my head…
