I heard that today is #NationalFrenchToastDay.
You don’t have to tell me twice.

Yum. I have no recipe… yet it turns out delicious every time. Definitely brown sugar, not white. And don’t forget the cinnamon.
I’ve got to hide the evidence because the kids will be sooo disappointed they didn’t get any.
Don’t tell on me.

Photo is my own (as if you couldn’t tell by the terrible quality)

About what sandra thinks
Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.
I love me some french toast.

Me too! My favorite breakfast. If only I’d had some bacon…

Well… at least I didn’t have bacon. Then they might actually cry.

Oh my goodness gracious me that plate looks to die for. I am now craving french toast and it’s sad because I can’t have any for a full week due to work circumstances. If only pictures could deliver real food sometimes 😛 I hope you savoured every last bite!

I love it too, and so easy to make. Win, win. But, I have to disagree about brown sugar vs powdered sugar. 😃

Oh, I mean brown sugar mixed into the egg/milk batter… then powdered sugar on top. Or do you use powdered sugar everywhere? 🙂
LikeLiked by 1 person
Well, that depends. On French toast, on top. 😃

But I confess, sometimes I sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top instead. Or in addition to… hahaha

I don’t know… It’s easy! 🙂 Oh, but a rarely do it just for me. In fact, I think this is the first time I ever have…

Well you should do it more often! It’s a lovely treat!

Whhhhhaaaaattt?!?! How did I not know this? Hmm, it’s 10:30 here – do you think that’s too late to make (and devour) French toast?
Also, I don’t think I’ve ever used brown sugar, or any sugar. I think I usually just add cinnamon & vanilla to the liquid mixture. Perhaps I shall change this. 🤔

I think you have plenty of time!
My mom always had egg, added some milk, and tossed in some sugar. I don’t know the amounts… neither does she. But when I do it, I use brown sugar instead of white… and I also add cinnamon… and if I remember, vanilla.

I realized I had no bread – boo! ☹️ I’m trying that the next time though!

Oh YUM!!! Now I want French toast….. but alas I have no eggs, or milk, or regular bread, or syrup…..this might be a problem
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hm… yes, I think it would be a challenge without *any* of those. Bread is kind of flexible… Cinnamon swirl bread, for example, works incredibly well… 🙂

I have rye bread lol might have to make some this weekend after going shopping

Okay, that sounds gross… rye bread French toast… 😛

Actually it’s quite good! The rye I get is so light, there is no heavy rye flavour to it, but the bread is better for soaking since it’s a little dry. 😉

So many days I don’t miss bread that much…until I see something like this.
I used to make an orange French toast. So dang good. Real maple syrup too.

Where I live especially, not having real maple syrup is seriously frowned upon!

My grandpa and uncle used to make it. So I’m ruined for anything else for life. 🙂
