aged.

aged.

I’m not a bottle of wine
I do not get better with age
I should be consumed
The moment I am poured
Drink me and drop the glass
No reason to hang on
It’s hard to find the worth
In the used and tossed away
I don’t think I’m recyclable
Just plain old needless trash

circles.

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

  4. Powerfully written. But with all due respect, I disagree with you dear Sandra. You do get better with age. I bet you are so much better now than youre college days. Sorry, for arguing. Oh, by the way, nicely written.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and I have no doubt you are treasured by those you love! ❤

  6. Okay, what on earth happened? It’s not just general stuff about your birthday. It’s an incredible poem and I can see if your life inspired it,but if you really believe that, you’re wrong. And I’m not. Email me if you want…

Hmmm, she doesn’t think much of herself. I think her value lies despite her age, whatever her age. Drink her up now, but keep her and drink her for years to come, she gets smoother with age, more refined, and lovely with each year.

I hope by the time you read this comment that wine has mellowed. Beautiful poem Sandra but know that the best wines are savored and appreciated. As you are. xo

Fantastic, I love this, I would prefer to be washed and dried and polished up and left in a handy spot to be used again. 🙂
