I believed your words
Like a lovesick fool
Such a naïve girl
Taken in too easily
But it took little time
For you to slip up and
Reveal your true self
The talented liar.
You begged but
You’d already lost
Excuses weren’t enough
You couldn’t charm your way out
Not this time.
And never again.
I quit.

This is another poem I wrote but rejected during the a-to-z challenge.
Like my last poem, this is not a reflection of my current life. Just a poem about being blindly sucked in and knowing when it’s time to get the hell out!
About what sandra thinks
Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.
Glad this is not your current life. But boy, I think we’ve all felt that at one time or another.

Oh yeah, definitely. I was too trusting in my younger years. Of course now I’m a bit cynical!

Cynicism is certainly a side effect of aging and experience. It can be good and/or bad I suppose. 😃

Another good poem. It must’ve been hard to pick which ones to use during the challenge! I’m glad this isn’t your current life too! 😅

I had 3 for Q! Yet I struggled with “easier” letters. I’m messed up!
And I feel the need to clarify my emotions so everyone doesn’t think I’m in the hell I write about! LOL Sometimes it’s just easier to write the bad than the good no matter what mood I’m in…

Sometimes the “good” ends up sounding sappy! Right? 😃

Yeah… and I’m all for sappy sometimes but I don’t want to make myself sick. 😀

Yep! Exactly! 😃

No matter how sad or difficult, ending will need to new beginnings. And there we can start new wonderful adventures.

Love it. Everything we write has a little bit of ourselves, I think, but then there’s fiction too! Otherwise we’d be reading your diary!

Oh yeah, definitely we’re a part of everything we write. No question. And sometimes you are reading my diary… but I won’t always confirm when… lol

Good plan! I don’t like to reveal a lot about myself cause — just cause, I guess!

Can I be one of your rejects, because they are absolutely amazing!? 😃

LOL! I’m glad you like them. 🙂 But I wouldn’t call you a ‘reject’! That sounds mean. 😀

Great words as usual Sandra, real or not, you have a way of making us all feel we can relate to you.

I suppose it is real… but not at the moment. In my younger days… you know, last week… 😉
