n is for numb. #atozchallenge

numb.

n is for numb.

Lost in a daze
Of my own creation
Peaceful and calm
Inside my dream
Surrounded by love
But I lost it so fast
Nothing beautiful lasts

I’d rather be numb

Every night I beg
The moon, the gods
Please take me back
To the haze of love
My dream of us
But my night is sleepless
Without you, my weakness

I’d rather be numb

This pain inside
Ripping me to shreds
Won’t release my soul
The dream has faded
Hopelessly crushed
Just one thing left from before
My heartbeat and nothing more

I’m finally numb

About what sandra thinks

Sandra began writing when she was a sixth grader. She is a teller of stories through poetry, fiction, and tales from her own life. And she thinks too much. Read, think, enjoy, laugh.

  3. Great, powerful write. Eliciting emotion in every line. For me the best line was “Nothing beautiful lasts.” That one explains life so perfectly. Great job.

  4. This, my dear, is a serious emotion evoking piece. It’s not an emotion many want to write about, but many feel. Thank you for giving it such powerful words and voice. Beautiful! 😊
