good enough.

good enough.

Before you arrived
I existed in a world
Of good enough
I never missed anything
I cannot miss things
I never had

And then
You

You brought me to life
Revealed miracles in me
I never imagined
I learned that good enough
Was not good enough
I deserve more

And then
You

You were here with me
And now you’re gone
Not good enough
I cannot miss things
I never had
My God I miss you
messy heart.

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy, too. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

  2. Aww, that’s sad. 😦 But nicely written. I read these, Sandra, and think back to a couple of months ago when you were writing your first couple of poems and worrying that you weren’t going to be any good at it… Well, um, hello? It’s become your forte! Write on sister!

So sad, it’s beautiful and honest. Do you ever listen to/watch slam poetry?
