weekly perk. #16

This gallery contains 8 photos.

I almost forgot to post a perk this week. I’m such a slacker! My children don’t spend hours playing video games. They are not especially interested in sports either. Oh, they love the computer and the tablet and all things … Continue reading

destroyed.

ripped heart.

Trust defiled
Lies spoken
Dream shattered
Heart broken
Torn apart
Not mended
Soul destroyed
Love ended
Pain suffered
Lost closeness
Once splendid
Now hopeless
messy heart.

nantucket. #nationallimerickday

Somebody (Meg) may have clued me in that today is National Limerick Day. Of course, I had no idea such a day existed, let alone that it was today.

I wanted to finally use “Nantucket” in one of these but this did not work out as I originally intended…

nantucket.

I am a girl from Nantucket
And I’m tired of being a puppet
To be someone I’m not?
That’s a crazy thought.
If you don’t like me you can suck it!
sunglasses.

By the way, I am not, in fact, from Nantucket. (But I’m willing to move…)

wrong.

wrong.

Make the right choice
Swims in the ocean
Inside her mind
Never hiding
Or taking a holiday

But all things wrong
Lurk like sharks under
Once calm waters
Always tempting
Promising sinful pleasure

When the sharks bite
They take all they want
Weaker creatures and
The blood of life
Without remorse or regret

But she is not
A man-eating beast
Well, not so far
So she prays for strength
To do right and resist wrong
swash.

the best parts.

laugh.

My steel-blue eyes
Make you smile
I don’t want you
To see me sad
You always laugh
At my dark humor
I only shed tears
When I’m alone
You know my dreams
My burning desires
But the impossible ones
I keep hidden inside
When you touch me
I feel beautiful
I‘ll never tell you
I can’t live without it
Intense and passionate
My emotions run deep
And you will never know
When they crush me

The best parts of me
Are for you.
I’ll keep the rest.

quit.

quit.

I believed your words
Like a lovesick fool
Such a naïve girl
Taken in too easily
But it took little time
For you to slip up and
Reveal your true self
The talented liar.
You begged but
You’d already lost
Excuses weren’t enough
You couldn’t charm your way out
Not this time.
And never again.
I quit.

rejected. This is another poem I wrote but rejected during the a-to-z challenge.
Like my last poem, this is not a reflection of my current life. Just a poem about being blindly sucked in and knowing when it’s time to get the hell out!

unforgiven.

unforgiven.

unforgiven.

I was forgiven
Your words, not mine
But I am confused
Please tell me why
You keep rehashing
Events from the past
I thought it was over
That I’d heard the last
Maybe you cannot
Forget my mistakes
I’ve tried everything
What more does it take?
My memories of us
Now cause me pain
Time for me to move on
Unforgiven I remain

rejected. This is another poem I wrote but rejected during the a-to-z challenge.
And by the way, I’m fine — this is just a poem about those who cannot forgive and about knowing when it’s time to walk away.
