All those times
you toyed
with my heart
and tried to break
my spirit
are finally fading
from my mind…
And I can prove
I’m over you—
I don’t even
remember your name.

Powerful stuff. I can feel the pain, I can hear the vindication.
What a voice you have.

Thanks… the “don’t even remember your name” part came to me while walking through Target… I had to stop and write it down in my phone because my memory sucks…
I like to write backwards… knowing the ending makes writing the rest easier, I think.
But I’m a freak so maybe that’s just me. 🙂

I see that, I’ve done the same when I write a longer piece. The ending provides the scaffolding, so to speak. After which the shape and dimension is filled in.
That’s pretty cool.

Exactly. And if I can’t get to my ending, I write a new one and save the original for later. Usually after some bad words and throwing of various items in frustration… 🙂

It’s a really good idea, I think. For me, the middle tends to be the toughest part to tackle. I get this idea and then I flesh it out, and as such, I usually have an ending to the story. But the middle, it tends to escape me.

With poetry, I tend to write kind of quickly. I’ll take an idea whether it’s an ending, a beginning, or just a general idea… and write the whole thing. Then I edit. Sometimes. Somethings, I don’t edit… I just throw it out there. Because I’m crazy like that.

It really does depends on the piece, you’re right. Sometimes the piece feels like it writes itself, and other times, not so much.

I find that when I have to try too hard, I’m not as pleased with the results. (That fits for some other things in life, too.) But often, those end up being the most liked poems I post… so what do I know? 🙂

True!
I will sometimes add something at the last minute, just because I have a feeling about it. And oftentimes it’s something most people will comment on, lol.
Maybe writing truly IS equal parts sweat and stars . .

But I really love when it all just comes to me at once. That’s the best.
I’m often surprised at the posts that are popular and those that aren’t. For example, I have a random poem that has over 300 likes… yet I’m still waiting for at least 50 men to respond to my valentine wanted ad… 😀

Is 50 responses the cutoff point after which you have a competition?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I’d be happy to have a competition with fewer than 50… but a girl can dream. And hell, who says there can only be one winner?? 😃 Okay, it might be difficult to run away with more than one. At a time.

True thing. I should have guessed that a clever and industrious gal such as yourself wouldn’t leave such a thing to the Bachelorette format.

Oh hell no. I really hate those shows. I’ve got something way better to give out than a stupid rose anyway…

You go girl!
I wrote a post a while back in which I trashed the show. Mind you, I wasn’t saying that if you watch it you’re a moron. I watch some mindless crap on TV, so I am not one to talk. But I just thought, how unreal is a show where people are going to ‘find love’ over the course of a few months? With the cameras on?
Puhleeze!

I don’t understand why people find that show entertaining. I’ve never enjoyed reality shows. And this is one of the worst. No one is going to find love in that environment. It’s ridiculous!
And I’m thinking that what I’d give out instead of roses probably couldn’t be shown on network TV… 😃

It escapes me. But the show does gangbusters, which either means that the end is near or TV has long since run out of good ideas. Imma go with both.
And as far as what you would give out . . hmmm. Twinkies?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Definitely not Twinkies. Resisting the urge to make a “cream filling” comment here though…

Whoa! Hahaha!
It’s already a better show than the Bachelorette. Just saying . . .

Sorry… too far? Maybe I should contact Netflix or HBO…

I would go with HBO. They have a ton of channels. Yours might fall into the category, “After Dark” . . .

I don’t even have much time for breakfast today… We’re going to see Black Panther in a little while.
But this granola bar is good. And obviously coffee…

And yep, coffee makes everything better.

I don’t think it’s possible to come out with a superhero flick that ain’t got heaping helpings of hype any more, lol.

It was really good but not one of my top 5 favorite Marvel movies or anything. Thor Ragnarok was better… But Chris Hemsworth is one of my dream men so… Really, though, my son loved that, too, so it’s not just my giant crush. I also liked Doctor Strange more than this one… And some others. But those are just my thoughts… which may be shared by no one. 🙂

I really dug Thor. Haven’t seen Ragnarok yet. And I really liked Doctor Strange.

I also really liked Ant-Man… I loved the first Thor, too… but I hate Natalie Portman. And Iron Man is awesome. Ragnarok comes out on blu-ray 3/6. Yes, we still buy some movies on blu-ray… 🙂

Haha! I stopped buying blu-rays but my son still does. LOVED Ant-Man.

They showed a trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp today. It looks awesome… but that doesn’t hit theaters until July…
And the blu-ray thing is not really me. If it were totally up to me, I wouldn’t buy them anymore… but I get overruled. Can you believe it? I do NOT get to make all the decisions around here. It’s blasphemous.

There has been a mutiny in Sandra Land! I shall alert the authorities . . . (I exclaim as I run off to check for previews of Ant Man . . .)

Oh yes… there are trailers out there. I first saw one a couple of weeks ago, I think.
On another note, The Avengers: Infinity War movies stress me out because there are all these rumors that some heroes are going to die. I can’t watch Thor die… I just can’t. It can’t be him…
Wow, I really am a nerd.

I would be the same way as far as Vera Farmiga is concerned. If she was a superhero. Well . . she IS a superhero in my eyes. But yanno . . if she was in these superhero movies.

Of course, there are currently no more Thor movies planned… so he’s “at risk”. Sigh. But I do believe Doctor Strange is safe. And Spiderman… but I don’t care about him at all. And Captain America can go as well. I’m done with him.
I’m a mean nerd.
