should would could. #poetry

window girl.

I should have
taken the time
to figure out
what I really wanted
before I took
what was there

I would have
waited for you
my one true love
we would be together
and I would know
happiness

I could have
believed in love
the kind that lives
in fairytales and dreams
and in my heart
that I broke

messy heart.

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

I very much relate to the first part. One should know first what one needs. Unfortunately we are too impatient sometimes
