The falling petals
float from branches like snowflakes
that will never melt…
can I help you find something?

Great blend of visual and verbal. Very nice.

Thank you so much. Words inspired by the photo… which I thought really was snow at first, but no – flower petals…

“El almendro en su propria flor nevado” (Quevedo, 1580-1645). ‘The almond tree, snowed under by its blossom.’ My own translation (just now!): but it’s a beautiful image. As is yours. Thank you.

Love your words, really hating winter, though. Ugggh.

Thanks, Rob. It has been a bit much lately. I think I only don’t mind as much because I currently have no commute to deal with! I do hope it keeps the kids from driving me mad next week during school break… I got them their own shovels. I’m such a great mom. LOL

I’m sure that they’ll love that gesture, Sandra! lol

Is that an Almond Orchard?

I don’t know what it is! I got it from a stock photo site I subscribe to. I Was convinced it was snow at first!

The commercial bee keepers we hang out with have brought us photos of the orchards they pollinate. So that would be my guess. Beautiful place, even if it looks like snow. You did a lovely descriptive in your post!

But having snow around to occupy the kids during school break next week will be good. After that, it can go… 🙂

Ah, so true. We don’t have a speck here (knock on wood) and its going to be 60 this weekend. We’re all waiting for the other shoe to drop!

We’ve been going back and forth a bit… but we had snow days last Thurs & Fri… and then again on Monday from another storm. It snowed a little this morning but no snow day. It looks beautiful, though. I took pictures. Have to see if any of them are suitable for posting… 🙂

yes…lovely words and photo. I have to say it’s been in the 70s most of this “winter” where I am. I wouldn’t mind a bit of that snow that melts for a change…but just a little 🙂
good job!

I like snow in some ways. But then it just gets messy… and I love spring. 🙂

Yes, yes, Spring and Fall are fab! But you must live where there are 4 seasons. Here is mostly hot, humid summer with breezes and bugs and mild dryer months with breezes and different bugs.
We moved here a couple of years ago so I’m having to adjust…it’s interesting. Would love a bit of snow now and again.

Yes… 4 seasons… in the Northeastern US. I love having all 4…. but too hot and humid in the summer is the worst! 🙂

Agreed. This is marshland and it’s hot and humid from May through November…ugh.
July, Aug, Sept are almost unbearable.
But…we do have the beach and the beautiful marshes…if you can stand to go out there during the heat. Life’s funny.

Lovely! Although I love the snow and we’ve been cheated out of it this winter, I am ready for spring. Let’s hope this is a harbinger!

Oh, I have lots of snow up here in the northeastern US. Probably about what you mentioned… 20 inches or close to it!
