run away.

run away.

My imagination
Slips into darkness
I begin to wonder
When you hold me
Are you thinking
Of me or another?
Do you want
To run away
Or stay forever?

When I shake
Those thoughts
I begin to wonder
As I lie in your arms
Do I belong here
Or with another?
I think I want
To run away
But would I ever?

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy, too. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

Just wow. A good reflection of how easily we project our deepest thoughts and fears onto those we are closest to… At least, that was the first thing that struck me, but that’s the beauty of poetry. Like art, it resonates differently with every person.
