no moon tonight in our black sky
the perfect eve for our blood hunting
in deepest darkness on rain-soaked streets
we must find a soul to charm into trust
to feed our hunger, our need, our lust
in the misty air, we find her waiting
delicious creature begging to be bitten
nearly midnight yet she stands alone
we slowly approach and catch her eyes
you tell me without words to take her
with only a brush of my body on hers
she follows willingly, fascinated
away from streetlamps I hide her
she touches my body with curiosity
and I let her for a moment but just
against the cold brick of the wall behind
I push her gently, press my body into hers
knowing you watch with haunting anticipation
I kiss her mouth, soft, delicious, sweet
but we know the prize and we will take it
she never screams only moans in ecstasy
when I reach her neck and sink my teeth
you stare as I drink for a moment longer
until you must have the taste for yourself
we share until she runs lifeless and cold
a kiss on her cheek and we leave her to rest
I kiss your dripping mouth, sharing our kill
but your smile says you’ve not had your fill
can I help you find something?

I’ve wanted to ask, do you take anything for anxiety? I take Effexor and its really helped me. Just curious, you don’t have to share 🙂

I do. Crap, do I come across like a total basketcase?? Moody bitch?? 🙂

Well…no, of course not, lol. I spent a lot of time not on medication and tho it helps me, some days I still fight the anxiety and negative thoughts. Maybe it makes us better writers?

I do have good days and bad… sometimes it even feels like both at the same time. I do think it makes us better writers, definitely.

Yikes! Sandra goes dark! Good stuff, not my thing, but good writing! 🙂

I never wrote this kind of thing before… I’m not sure yet if it’s me. Which is funny, kind of, because I’m usually all about the darkness. And Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Never got into the vampire thing, well except for reading the Anne Rice books but that was way before the latest vampire craze… I’m dating myself! 😦

Well… Buffy (and later Angel) were it for me (and the Anne Rice books). I’ve never read/seen the Twilight series or anything else more recent. So I am dated, too. 🙂

Very different from your normal write. This was what I was talking about the other day when I spoke of dark writing. You did it perfectly. The fiction that you are thinking about writing will be dark? What is your genre of choice?

I have never done this before… I decided to see what would happen if I tried. It was more difficult for me to write this than my ‘usual’ writing. That makes me think it’s not for me other than a few pieces here and there. My fiction — you know me… I’m a sappy mushy romantic puddle. My fiction always end up there (sometimes with some naughty bits, too). That may be part of why I think I am boring. Millions of people write sex and romance…..

You are right. Million write about sex & romance. The objective is to write about it in a fresh way that hasn’t been done before. (Which I know is almost impossible). What this write demonstrates is you are willing to go out of your comfort zone. And you did it so well. You shouldn’t fear doing it again.

I was thinking I might be more comfortable with witches than vampires. Which is less overdone anyway. And I have more info/background with that anyway. I’m pretty sure I won’t give up love and romance so that would likely still be part of the story… but I might give up sex (in WRITING ONLY) and make it YA…

Understood. Anne Rice wrote a delicious book about witches called “The Witching Hour.” Will look forward to yours.

My what? Oh oh oh….sorry… the story…yes. It may be a while…

Of course. In the meanwhile we can find something else to entertain us.
