She holds her secrets
Tries to hide her weakness
She may want to let you in
Yet stops before she begins
She knows how to lie
Secrets behind her eyes
Afraid you will deceive her
Though she was once a dreamer
She protects her heart
You can’t rip it apart
Inside her locked in a cage
Will never become love’s slave
She cries every night
Desperate to stop the fight
Dying to open her soul
Tired of being alone
She dreams of falling
Unlocked without warning
By the man who holds the key
Cage open and love set free
Another beauty, Sandra. I’m feeling this one today, not sure why.

This was beautiful. You know I like these kind of poems. And it went so perfectly with the image. Was this inspired by the image??

It was not. I found the perfect picture after I wrote it. I died when I saw it (not literally, obviously) because it was perfect…the image, the style. It was… “me”. I’m not entirely sure of the specific inspiration fit this… some dark corner of my head? Heart? One of those, I suppose, or more likely, both.
And also… Thank you.

Not sure when you began to follow me, but I found this image once of an old lady with a ballerina shadow. That inspired the poem. I asked because I have been inspired by images and photos. This was a lovely write with the perfect corresponding image.

Oh, yes, I have been inspired by images as well. This image happened to be one that fell into place after writing but I’ve certainly had the image first a few times.
I remember the image you’re talking about. When I first started blogging, I read a few blogs but stayed in hiding. Guess I had to get over my initial shyness… but I think I mentioned this before so maybe you already know that… Also, when I find a new blog to read that I enjoy, I often go backwards and read as much as I can…

Interesting. Forget the shyness. Life is too short.

Interesting… yes I suppose some things about me are interesting… But true, yes, shyness is a waste of time. Like many things, it would be great if there was a switch to turn that off. But I’ve come out of my shell quite a bit. Perhaps you’ve noticed?

How many times have connections are never made because of shyness? Or someone doesn’t sell their book because they are afraid to send their work out. So, our inhibitions can do much harm. I am happy to see you break out of your shell. You know me, I want to see butterflies soar.

Yeah. I know. Or maybe the connection is just delayed until the flying happens.
Just have to rise above those nets to avoid being pulled back down after taking flight…

True. But never be afraid to fly. Don’t let anyone or anythting hold you back.

You know I try. At least I think you know… maybe I don’t know if you know… But I definitely try.
