Peering inside
Through tinted glass
I can see her clearly
But I am fooled
By my own eyes
Unfocused and bleary
Pure happiness
I love her smile
I adore how she glows
I envy her
Such confidence
In her beautiful soul
But lovely girl
She’s no stranger
Behind the clouded glass
That’s a mirror
My reflection
I see myself at last
About what sandra thinks
Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.
That’s so lovely. Nicely written.

Did you look into songwriting?

I tried to… but I cannot write music which was (obviously) a huge part of what I read. I did intend to dig a bit deeper but… well, life… and it fell off my radar. So thanks for reminding me. 🙂

Always! Somehow inspiration is greatest when I’m supposed to be doing something else… which is why my husband is making dinner right now. 😀

This is so hopeful! And light at the end of the tunnel-ish! Love it! Hope you had a great weekend my friend!

Thank you, Meg! My weekend was uneventful (in a good way). I’m not sure I know where this one care from. Well, from me, obviously. Hahaha… But I usually do find sadness, tragedy, pain easier to write than hope. Like… sad songs always seem better than happy ones?
Hope you had a great weekend, too!

I know! I have a really dark limerick for tomorrow 😁 I’m attaching a foreword. Or maybe skip it this week, haven’t decided.

Most of the time I try to go ahead even if seems too dark (or too naughty or too anything). Maybe it keeps people guessing… 😀

Totally off subject… Aerosmith is in concert on MTV right now. Joe Perry- totally hot? Yay or nay?

He is getting pretty old, but I always did love him. I still say hot. BTW… John and I met him once! 🙂

No way!!! What was he like?

Well… he was really nice, very mellow, and our “meeting” did not last very long. He had this hot sauce he was pushing. An enormous crowd of people showed and we talked to him for just a few minutes… spoke very slowly when asking him to sign our hot sauce bottles, shook his hand, and snapped a few pictures. I was a little flustered but John has loved him for ages… he was like a little girl! (That may be a bit of an exaggeration…) 🙂

I did a bit… but seeing John became the boy-fangirl was priceless!

Too bad it was so many years ago that taking a quick video on a smartphone was not “a thing” yet… I’d love to have video of that. I could use it for blackmail. 😉

There is nothing sexier on a woman than confidence in one’s self

I like to think we all have it — even if some don’t see it. It’s in there somewhere… waiting to jump out and scream… and take over.
