my beloved.

baby_mom-hands

my beloved.

The winter night I met him
My heart changed inside me.
So overcome and amazed,
Impossible to sleep.

In my arms, against my chest
Innocent, perfect, dear.
Things will never be the same
Because now he is here.

And then I whisper is his tiny ear:

I make this promise to you,
And I hope it’s enough:
I’ll be the kind of mother
You deserve, my beloved.

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

So lovely! You should print this out, or have someone write it out in calligraphy and then frame it for him!

  3. This is so beautiful. Definitely something I do time and time again, even though my son is now five, I haven’t stopped telling him I’ll do my best for him.
