Hey look! It’s a Fiction Friday post. Well, sort of.

For the record, formatting this as a fake ‘texting’ image was a pain in the ass. I don’t recommend it. I’m not super happy with it either… it’s just so… simple and cheesy. But I’ve decided to post it anyway… because, let’s face it, I haven’t been happy with much of anything I’ve written for months anyway… so what the hell…

This was inspired by Marquessa’s Lyrical Fiction Friday prompt. Well, this piece of it anyway: “I’m trying to erase you from my mind…” And I guess my story is sort of the opposite of that line… these two are definitely not trying to erase each other…

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

  10. I like the way you’ve done this. I’ve never tried to format as a text message but you’ve done a great job with it. The style is very clear and it reads great.
You should definitely keep playing with this concept. It’s a clever medium to tell stories

    • I love dialogue. I think it’s my favorite part of fiction writing. I’ve done a few things like this that are dialogue-only but not with the text message graphics. It’s kind of fun… 🙂

      • It makes your writing even more visually interesting. It’s a clever way to tell inyeresting stories in a modern way.
Dialogue is wonderful… im terrible at it but I love it. It’s probably why I don’t write as much fiction. It’s probably why I should so I can get better

        • I also like writing dialogue with the speaker’s private inner thoughts dispersed in between. That may be my favorite of all. I find that I can inject some humor and bluntness that way… and readers seem to like it a lot.
