I have nearly lost the entire week without posting this. [Hey, my weeks are Sunday to Saturday… I’m not late… yet!] The days just sort of slipped by me this week… writing alphabet posts… taking care of my sick son [junior-man-flu]… trying to find new and exciting things to cook for dinner. [Ask me about my ‘chili mac and cheese’… God it’s good.]
So… random good-happy-perky stuff this week…
My daughter loves to ask us what our favorite [color, food, season, holiday, movie, whatever – you name it] is. As an extension of this, a few days ago, she decided to divide a sheet of paper into four sections and label them – herself, her brother, Dad, and Mom. In each, she drew a picture of the person doing a favorite activity and she wrote something at which she thinks we’re the best. I need to dig this out of her pile of artwork/schoolwork so I can post a picture, but for now…
She drew me sitting on the sofa with my laptop, writing, with a cup of coffee on the table beside me. Apparently, this is what she pictures when she thinks of what Mom loves to do. She’s not wrong… at least as far as non-adult activities go. It was adorable. Maybe it makes me look lazy… but at least it wasn’t what she drew for Dad – two pictures: one of him eating pizza and the other of him sleeping. Ha!
My favorite, though, was what she wrote about me. “Mom, you are the funniest and smartest ever.” She is awesome. And I love that my kid thinks I’m funny.
My daughter is pretty much a constant source of entertainment. As is obvious by her insistence that I “powerpuff” myself:
There you have it! The picture of me you’ve all been dying to see for months! You’re welcome.
On an entirely different note, this week, my blog surpassed 400 followers. I still can’t believe that. Like I’ve said before, I’m sure about 20% of those people actually read regularly (or fewer), but I don’t care. It’s an incredible amount of support and love. And I’m not going to be all modest and humble about it. [Not at the moment, anyway.] To me, this means my writing is enjoyed and appreciated. I have fans. [You may cheer now… hold up signs… do the wave.] Maybe using the word fans is pushing it. I’m okay with pushing it.
Thanks for reading, my generous and kind friends. And please – don’t be shy. If there’s something you’d like me to write more of – anything at all – please let me know. And if you want to throw words at me for the a-to-z challenge, please do! I will consider all suggestions. I haven’t written anything yet for letters i through z, except for m. Talk to me!
Until sometime next week…
Coffee and a laptop- it’s standard equipment! 👍

I agree. I’ve been thinking about moving my Keurig to the side table. Ahahahaa. Okay, even I am not that lazy. 😀

I have a kettle (I think that’s what they’re called) where I make two extra cups of coffee from my keurig, and then I’ll refill my mug when I run out. Three cups ready and hot without having to get up. 😆😆

Suggestion for a letter – surely “p” should be for perky/ perkiness… 🙂

I am surprised I didn’t think of that! Great idea! 🙂

There’s a bunch of tricky letters ahead… that’s why I made my “Z” easy, by choosing a zombie theme! I really think we should ditch “X” from the alphabet… 🙂

I have no problem with x… I will probably just do x-rated. Maybe. We’ll see. 😀

Haha, I love how children picture their adults! My pictures I get in school generally have me sat with cake… I train them early so they know to share when they bring it in on their birthdays!! 😉

Awww I love your weekly perks! It’s actually one of my weekly perks just to read your weekly perks! What, pray tell, is chili mac and cheese? I don’t know what it is but I seriously want some just from the name alone! Your daughter sounds like the sweetest thing ever!!! And congratulations on the followers! Much (well deserved) love Sandra!

Aww, thanks! 🙂
I stumbled across the recipe for Chili Mac and Cheese and thought it was worth trying. Something my whole family would eat! (Okay, I had to have the beans on the side so 3 of us could add them and my son could skip them…) Chili (beef, beans, tomatoes, onions, garlic) and Mac and Cheese (just noodles and cheese) all cooked together. It was yummy! Of course, we added extra cheese… because there’s never enough cheese… 😀

Here is the pin I saved with the recipe…
By the way, we are a family of 4 so when it said 4 servings, I knew I had to double it. 😀 Hahahaa! Leftovers… yay! (I also made a few minor changes… but just for personal preference reasons…)

Amazing!! Maybe I’ll have to go on a search for a foreign market to find some of the ingredients and make it haha
