erased. #poetry

writing in darkness

I wrote the words
without knowing
what I wanted to say
and in the end
I hated every one
so I erased them all.

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

    I get writer’s block myself and erase the words, but then I start with new ones. Loved your poem. ❤

    I think that most of the best writings are about sadness. And I love it!! Just few simple words with big meanings.

    With no mind words come from the heart;
    Can there be a heart that hates when the mind is ready to erase?

    I’ve done this countless times. I have about 30 drafts saved. Sometimes words just cannot express the strong feelings inside.

    It’s funny how a couple words can speak volumes. Takes real talent to portray something so relatable in just a few words.

    Sandra, Short, concise and to the point. A poem made for poetry as understood in this way. Lovely. Insta-poets were not on your list of the unfavoured. On mine possibly. I’m still thinking that one over. 😉
