avengers infinity war. (no spoilers)

I was kind of stressed out going into this movie. I know… is there anything I don’t stress about? Probably not. It’s just all the rumors about characters being killed off… maybe I’m a freak, but over the last eighteen Marvel movies, I’ve grown attached to so many of them. Watching them die doesn’t work for me.

But watching this movie totally worked for me.

It may be my favorite of all the Marvel films. I’m not sure… I reserve the right to go back on that at any time. But it was incredible. I know Marvel has a billion characters out there but I don’t see how they can let go of any (most) of them. I don’t think they’d stop making money if they kept making movies for a long time to come.

Anyway… I won’t go into any plot details because (1) I suck at writing reviews of anything and (2) I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone.

It was a two-and-a-half hour movie, but I felt like I was in the theater for about 20 minutes. That’s how amazing and exciting every scene was… how great the story was. Not for a single moment was I waiting for things to move along… waiting for something to happen. Nope. Something was happening the whole time. (Unlike Spider-Man: Homecoming… I’m still waiting for that one to get going and impress me. And that movie came out in June 2017.)

This movie made me like characters I previously hated. I don’t think I really hate any of them anymore. (I’m talking to you, Captain America.) And it made me love some of my favorites even more. (I’m talking to you, Doctor Strange.) (I’m also talking to you, Thor. But really, how could I love you more?)

I admit, though, that I am still stressed after seeing the movie. (I know… I have a problem.) This movie is technically ‘part 1‘… so ‘part 2‘ is still on the way. In a fucking year. Yeah, thanks Marvel. This movie left us sufficiently hanging. When you get to the end, you don’t really know how it ends.

It’s a brilliant movie. It’s even better than the hype. There were tears… and laughs… and clapping… and cheering. And that was just me. No, it was a lot of people. That theater was packed and everyone loved this movie.

If you care about superhero movies at all, I cannot encourage you enough to see this film. In IMAX 3D.

Just one last parting thought…

I love Thor so much.

Like a pirate had a baby with an angel! So many awesome one-liners in it. Saw it last night and still contemplating how it will play out. We missed Black Panther in the cinema but that action scene has made me want to see it asap!

Thank for you sharing! I loved Avengers:Infinity War so much, its such a great movie! I got the insane opportunity to go to the World Premiere on the 23rd. I was just in front of Tom Holland during the screening at the Dolby Theater, he was with his brothers and they were all so sweet! I got to talk to members of the cast and they were all incredibly nice! I wrote two posts on my blog about it (one about the premiere and another one about after party) if you’d like the check it out!

  8. Two and a half hours?? It’s probably going to take me a week (or longer) to watch it. I’m not really a fan of The Avengers movies (great to see on the big screen, falls apart plot wise when you’re watching elsewhere). I’m glad that people are enjoying it, though.

    • It really didn’t seem like it was anywhere close to 2 1/2 hours. It flew by. I didn’t love Ultron but the first Avengers movie, I thought was great. And this one was way better than that…

      • Lol I have the attention span of an ant. After the hour mark, I start to fidget. Obviously, it’s different when you go and see it, but I’m definitely not going to so I can already picture my attempt to watch it. 😂

I think I’m just over MCU. Too many movies, too many characters. I’m a DC girl at heart anyway. I’m just partial to Thor (mostly for the aesthetics and NOT the plot lmao).

I liked the first Avengers movie until I watched it again and I was like, ‘wait…’. The most interesting thing about Ultron was that they shot some scenes at my university and no one told me Chris Hemsworth would be there. 😭

IT WAS SO GOOD!! I think Doctor Strange might be my favorite, but (as you said) I reserve the right to change that at any time. So many thoughts. I can’t believe we have to wait a year!

The best part of seeing the movie opening night was that it was only hardcore fans. It was people who were invested. There were cheers! Full on clapping mid-movie! And shock and gasps at all the right moments. Spectacular memory.

  10. I was in awe of the ambition, craftsmanship, and visuals in this movie, and enjoyed the dialogue, too. They really outweighed the flaws. Apparently the original comic book plot line had Thantos doing all this to impress Hela, Thor’s sister, and I think that would have made more sense over all, but then … how to get the soul stone… we might not have had that scene.

    • It was amazing, I think. I am not one to find flaws other than personal taste. But this movie made me like characters I used to dislike… so I think that says a lot about how great it was. I think they have to stray from the comics, sometimes more than other times. But for me… who has never read a comic book in my life, the movies totally work for me. I love them!

OMG! I agree with everything you said! I absolutely loved the film!! I’m a huge fan!! I can’t wait for the next I instalment. I think they did a fabulous job tying all the storylines together. The action kept me at the edge of my seat. What I loved also is watching it with other fans. I loved our gasps and ohs and claps, all in unison. Captain Marvel to the rescue! Leave it to a woman to take care of business! Can’t wait!

Did I just give away a spoiler?
