Thirty. A couple of days ago, I got thirty likes on thirty posts in less than thirty seconds. Is this new follower a fucking speed reader? Please! No reading happened there. What is the point? I hate when my notification list is bombarded with these kind of likes. Don’t get me wrong… I’m glad that people like my posts. But this person didn’t read a single word I wrote. I’m sure of that.
And while I’m being all annoyed and shit, what the hell is the point of reblogging my posts to blogs that post only reblogs? Never a comment on the post… no intro… nothing. Just a reblog. Why are these people even blogging? They have nothing original to share. This kind of reblog makes me feel like my content is being stolen. They’re not doing it to share my work… they’re doing it to fill their blog with posts.
And the weird followers… that appear to be robots in most cases… what is the point of this? But, hey, who am I to judge? Maybe I really am that fascinating… even to robots.
And the I’m-just-here-to-advertise-my-blog comments. Ugh. I’ve mentioned this before… so I’m not going to elaborate. I think you know how I feel about that.
I think I’m done now.

Perhaps you’ll notice the sharp contrast between my bitch session about blogging things and my friend’s ‘blogging tips’ (this one, too). She’s waaay nicer than I am!
I read it, liked it, and totally, totally, agree with everything you say Betty!

Mouaahahahahaha… Great post, Sandra! I don’t think it is a matter of being nice or mean (I say it before it gets out of your own mouth… I can feel you wanted to describe yourself this way :P) you are just way more straight forward than I am.
I agree with you, and the first point really made me smile! When it happens, I have a split second moment torn between “Come on! You haven’t even read my posts!!!!” and “Yeah, but that’ll give my stats a little boost” (I know, I know…. I shouldn’t think about stats. But although I don’t focus on them, I can’t help but enjoy a good day stats-wise 😉 )
Thanks for linking me in, Gorgeous 🙂 xx

You’re welcome! 🙂
I admit I think about stats, too. It’s hard not to. But I wish every ‘like’ meant someone really truly liked my post, you know?

I totally agree… I always made sure I only liked posts I had read from A to Z, and truly appreciated. I don’t know what these people expect… That bloggers will give them a follow for the 20 “likes” bundle?? I DO love, though, when I notice someone liking a whole bunch of posts back to back, but with enough time in between to know that they really liked their visit! 🙂

Yes… that is much better… when you can tell that they really took a little time to read! 🙂

🙂 You know… Like when I am a little off for a couple of days, and I come back and read 5 or 6 episodes of “my dear diary” in a row 🙂 xx

rant on girlfriend! love it when you do actually. You always say what I want to say but I get too pissy and ramble. So, gonna start just reblogging all your work instead of ranting on my own…okay? (I wouldn’t do that….bad joke…highly medicated for insanely hurting back…I just didnt want to miss your work today)

Aww… thanks for reading. 🙂 And I don’t mind at all if you reblog… because you actually will have read the post and had a reason to reblog! 🙂

I kinda like the way you said it as well, seeing both. 😃

Yep, I can totally relate to this. I’ve had the same annoying speed readers on my blog too that I’m sure haven’t actually read a thing. Good on you for putting it out there. xo

Of course… the offenders probably won’t read it! 😀

Very well said. I get these speed -not- readers sometimes, too. What’s the point of them doing all the ‘likes’ if they don’t care to read it. It wastes their own time, along with ours, because we have to do a bunch of deleting (at least on my email notices).

Exactly… what’s the point??

I have seen similar remarks on other blogs, so it’s not uncommon. Too, bad that the “like-not-read” folk don’t know what they’re missing. (clicks I am not a robot, then post.)

Really. I mean, my every word is fascinating! 😀

I totally love your writing! That does sound frustrating, but maybe it will offer you more exposure? (They’re missing out if they aren’t reading though!)

I agree on all points… and the reblogs to blogs that only post reblogs DOES feel like they’re stealing my content. I also don’t want to be linked to weird sites like that. No one reads them and they are obviously created for whatever obscure reasons, to gain clicks or email addresses or something…
LikeLiked by 1 person
I agree… I don’t want to be linked to those sites. I wish there was a way to decline a reblog… Like, reject it so the other blogger can’t post it. We should be able to do that!
LikeLiked by 1 person
That’s a brilliant idea! (What about stealing images though… oh no, better not get me started!!)

Haha… Yes, I hate that, too!

I feel the exact same way!! Sometimes I will publish a post and in less than 30 seconds someone has liked it. There is no way they actually read it.
I’ve never been reblogged to one of those blogs, but when I see they have followed me, it makes me wonder why. What do they get out of hosting a site like that? It massively confuses me.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes… the instant like! It’s crazy!
The reblogs make no sense. I wish we had to approve them (or could reject them) before they could show on another blog. That would be great!
LikeLike
I thought you did have to approve the reblog? Or is that just the embedded link?
LikeLiked by 1 person
The only thing that approving the reblog does is show it in your comment list below the post. If you don’t approve it, it won’t show there… but it is still on the other person’s blog. I didn’t know this at first. I thought NOT approving it would mean that it wouldn’t show on the other blog… but that’s not the case, unfortunately…

Oooh – I had the same thinking as you! And I just got a slew of likes by the same person all within a minute for about 10 different posts

I’ve had that happen to me. It’s usually two bloggers that do it. I can see who they are in Statcounter, and it’s always the same two. They’ll like a bunch of posts at a time, spending about 3 seconds on each. Speed readers are they!

I think people have bots set up to like posts with certain tags. That way, they get hits to their blogs etc. I’ve had people like my posts after less than a second. That’s not natural.
LikeLiked by 1 person
That makes sense about the bots. It’s weird though!

how can someone like stuff that fast? It boggles the mind..I once liked something, but then I had to click the like again because I didn’t actually LIKE what they said, but I agreed with them..so I “liked’ it again…they sent a note asking if I had lost my mind……

Ohhh. I hate that too. Wrote a similar post about reblogs too a long time. Your serial offender liker is…well i don’t know what to call it. But I have been known to read a bunch of posts and then go back and hit “like” like a crazy person. 😁

That makes sense… with the likes all in a row if you’re catching up. But the ones where someone likes a post 5 seconds after I posted it… those are weird!
