Is that another title that sounds dirty? Or is that just me? Probably the latter.
Last night when I was totally frustrated with writing, I got out some pens and paper. This is the result.
I guess this is kind of like that whole ‘zentangle‘ thing, but I’m not following the ‘rules‘… I’m just doing whatever. And I think I’m going to do whatever some more because I enjoyed this, and I have a few favorite patters from this that I’d like to play around with.
Yes, I need playthings. I don’t care if I’m a grown woman. Hell, I probably need them more because I’m a grown woman. But we all like toys. Don’t we? I know that’s not just me.

Your design and colors are really pretty! I agree, doodling is fun. 🙂

Colouring and scribbling and drawing are so great. I was doing very poor watercolours a couple of years back, for fun–maybe I’ll fish out my stuff again and do more.

I cannot paint at all… I’m so bad at it! I have to choose things I might actually be good at or I end up frustrated. I expect too much of myself, I think…

Oh too bad to be hard on yourself. When I did it, it was strictly mental therapy, since I have no talent at all for it. You notice I didn’t say I used to draw, since the dreadful stick figures I can do are not exactly ‘drawing’–

So pretty!!! We all need to do fun things to do. I don’t know if I have a “play thing.” The closest things for me are likely my laptop and my gardening tools in the summer. Boring, eh?

Well, I also have the plaything in my secret bedroom drawer. TMI!!! 😀
Not boring! I wish I liked gardening.
And thank you! 🙂

Oh, you mean like a Family Size bag of M&M in your bedroom drawer??? *smiles innocently*

I see lots of card designs heading your way. Lovely!
Adapt your other pictures such as fish and dog, and fill in with some similar designs. I bet they would look great.

I was thinking of doing something like that… maybe I will try it. I tend to do well with the abstract because then I don’t get annoyed with myself when it doesn’t look enough like a dog, fish, whatever…!

I think it could work very well. You obviously have a good eye for abstract design.

You just inspired me to break out my adult coloring books, plus the mandala I have in a frame. Thank you. I love the color you chose for yours. 🙂

I’ve got coloring books, too. I get frustrated with those sometimes because I want to finish the whole page but it takes sooo long!
I hope you have fun! And thanks!

I worked on one picture once that took me close to two weeks, but it did come out gorgeous. 🙂

Nah, not me… I need to have that to inspire me to write new things. I’ll just keep my notebook right next to me. LOL!

Grownups need their toys to remember how to be child-like in the crazy world we live in.

If you want visuals to talk about toys for grown-up folks don’t search for adult toys. It’s an eye opener.😀

That’s really cool! That could be a design for cards. And yes, doodling for fun does sound a little dirty. So does liking toys. 😃

Pretty picture!! And the title would have been more suggestive if it was “diddling for fun” but I’m not sure that would make sense in this context lol

Sometimes rules are more like suggestions, lol.
You’re a woman of many talents!

I’ve heard that before… in various situations. 😛 (Like I was saying earlier to Beach… my sense of humor and dirty mind live on no matter what else is going on in my life… It’s a gift.)

‘Tis that! And be thankful for that gift in this crazy world.

Yes. If I couldn’t laugh, I’m not sure how I’d muddle through some days. Of course, that’s a little awkward when I laugh at inappropriate times… 🙂

And I first heard that line about rules in one of the Pirates movies . . Johnny Depp said something to the effect . . .

I say that kind of a lot. When someone tells me I’m not supposed to do something… or tells me how to do something… I say, “oh… no, that’s just a suggestion.” I got it from my dad…

This is awesome! I’ve done some geometric art pieces using an old set of drafting tools inherited from my father in law. It really is soothing and ‘zen’ like to draw like that. Keep going – this is really cool!

Thanks! I don’t have any special tools… unless the pens count… 🙂

And you’re creating spontaneously is almost like letting the piece form itself – like automatic writing – you are the instrument of the muse. Its very cool!

Doodling for fun is the best! My last post was about something similar. I like to just use colored pencil on sketch paper and draw shapes and fill them in..then I just keep adding to it till I’m happy with it. No mistakes and stress free. Doodling for fun is the best!
