you knew. #poetry

skeletons.

you knew
I needed you
before I ever
asked you
for anything
and I will
always remember
the way
you made me feel
when you fixed me
when you gave me
the power
to finally say
I am not broken
anymore

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

  3. Whether fiction, or not, this optimism is a good start. Link that to the push ups and, hey presto, you’re on the up and up.

  7. This really hit me. The person that helped me years ago probably doesn’t know they helped me recently. Thank you for this beautiful post.
