She removed every last stitch of clothing from her body and pulled on his shirt. She felt surrounded by him. Pausing for a moment, her eyes fell to her toothbrush standing in the glass by the sink. Beside his. There was something comforting and meaningful about their toothbrushes resting side by side like that. Smiling, she took a deep breath and snapped out of her silly toothbrush vision. He was waiting for her.

About what sandra thinks
Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.
Real life is about toothbrushes and dinner and getting the kids to sleep (in their own beds!)

Very true. I took this out of a very old piece of fiction… A little realism in my romanticized fiction… 🙂

Yes and that’s what makes it so good!

Warm fuzzy kinda stuff there. I get that feeling too. 😊

Well, it’s fiction… for me anyway. And originally written long ago… But yes… *that* feeling.

Surely you’ve had that feeling, at some point? 😕

Oh yeah… I have. It’s been a loooooong time. But I originally wrote this (as part of a much much longer piece of fiction) back in 2002.

Gotcha. I love that feeling! My kids would give me the feels something fierce when they were babies, and fall asleep in my chest. Or I’d watch my wife doing…whatever…with them. It was intense! 😃

Oh the kids when they were babies… I think I cried daily because of things like that!

I do hope the brushes were behaving, with no bristle to bristle contact!

Oh yes, complete innocence. For the brushes, anyway…

Nice! You’ve packed a lot of sweetness (but not too much of it) into a short piece.😊

*cue girly sigh* awwwwwww!!!!! ❤
ps: the second toothbrush post I've read in 24 hours. The other one was sad though, the toothbrush was gone in the morning.

It was the daily post prompt… and I actually had this from something I wrote many years ago. So weird I had something about toothbrushes… 😃

oooo that makes sense! lol and yes super weird! But the daily prompts seem to repeat themselves a lot or at least when I was using them to get ideas I found lots of overlap

I hardly ever use them so I haven’t noticed that. Those (or any) prompts don’t often work for me… I’ve never really been a big fan. I don’t know why. But I’ve been having trouble posting lately so I needed SOMETHING. I guess my life is so boring that I have nothing interesting to say…

Your life is so full of emotions and thoughts your brain is coming up at a blank on what to write
LikeLiked by 1 person
Actually, that’s likely. My brain is always in overdrive. But I still think my life is too boring. Outside my head, anyway. It would be nice if I had the means (financially and especially psychologically) to change that… but I really don’t. I feel kind of trapped. And stuck. But not stuck in mud… it’s more like stuck in cement…!
