I moved Fiction Friday to Tuesday. My reasoning was this: Some people have told me that my fiction is good and more people should be reading it. So, since blog traffic slows down from Friday to Sunday, posting on another day (Monday through Thursday) might bring more readers as those days generally get more traffic.
However, I haven’t noticed a positive change. In fact, views have gone down. Here’s what happened with views based on the average. (Yes, I am a math nerd.)

Friday was actually better… for views and for likes and comments. I have no idea if these numbers truly provide an accurate picture of the success of these posts… but for my brain, numbers don’t lie. Hell, maybe people have just lost interest in my story. That would make the numbers go down as the story progresses, regardless of day. But still, I think Friday was better.
When I take the numbers into consideration along with my lack of a good name for ‘Fiction Tuesday‘ (I hate that so much), I’m left thinking I should go back to Friday. Tuesday is just not working. I hope another change doesn’t cause a slump… a loss of readers… but I’m changing back anyway.
Since it’s Saturday and I feel bad having 10 days between posts (for whomever may still be reading...), I think I’ll post this Tuesday… and this Friday… and then stay with Fridays after that.

You lost me, but through no fault of your own. I’m the least consistent blog reader ever mostly because I am easily distracted. That being said, I still need to catch up!
In terms of stats, people are weird. My most popular posts past the stupid and senseless ones are a half review I wrote for a SyFy movie and a few of my Trump posts that were linked elsewhere. Everything else is touch and go. I just don’t bother looking these days. Post whenever you want to, my dear! 🙂

I know what you mean… sometimes I just have other stuff popping into my head and I read very little… then I try to catch up and it’s overwhelming!
I also don’t know why certain posts are more popular than others… the most popular of mine being one about my messed up head… 🙂

That’s so weird! I know what you mean about post popularity having no rhyme or reason though. Something I’ve worked hours on will be lukewarm while some little quick thing will get all the views. Well I’ll read whenever you post!

Thanks! Like I said, there could be other factors here… time of year, time of day, story not gripping… who knows! I’ve only had 4 posts on Tuesdays… maybe it’s too soon to tell… but I’m impatient. LOL

I don’t know if it makes any difference, except maybe that people are used to seeing you on Friday or your blogs jived on that day and now they don’t. I don’t pay much attention to stats or I’d make myself crazy. Stick with it a bit and it way smooth out as people get used to it. 🙂
