my identity.

My online identity, that is…

I’ve been reluctant to change things much around here. It’s been long enough that my site’s design and style are pretty well ingrained. If I change things, will this place no longer feel like home? To me? Or to you? Will you wonder where you are? Where I’ve gone? I don’t want anyone to think it’s not the same blog they know and love and visit religiously a minimum of six times each day.

what sandra thinksI’ve played around with redesign ideas but even if I love what I create, I abandon it because I don’t want to lose my identity. I still like the way this place looks. But… I also have this desire to change something. Even my avatar. I’m sick of looking at it… but I’m not sure I like anything else I’ve come up with either. And if I do change it… will I not look like me anymore? Will I be unrecognizable? I am crazy-indecisive about such silly things.

Is this identity crisis ridiculous? Kind of a rhetorical question… I already know it is…

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

Not to mention that when you change your gravatar, you sometimes get put on moderation when you comment.

  2. If you’re gonna change it, I like the coffee mug one and the black and white writing one. 😃

Change little things at a time and your image will change rather than disappear. Do you still write the same stuff as when you started? I bet not… So why not try changing the image too 😊

I like the coffee mug and the writing image too… You’re a real writer! Now cut that out! 😜 I have changed my blog a bunch of times and my avatar changes with the length of my hair, so… Not to mention, I think since they changed the reader again, hardly anyone actually goes to the blog page. Posts get read and commented on from the reader. Kinda stinks

    • I didn’t know that about the reader… because I haven’t been there in quite some time. I can’t even keep up with the posts I get emailed to me… I’m not sure how I’d get through all of those, too. I used to try to go there at least once a week but that’s been a challenge lately. I could change my avatar with the length of my hair but none of them would be pics of me… LOL

  5. I say change it! You can always revert back to the old layouts/avatar if you need to. I used to change mine on a daily basis before I grew out of it. 😊

I know someone that recently changed theirs… 😀
I don’t think you can change a person that easily, but there is always a trial and error process and the nice thing is, if nothing works you can always go back to the original, right?

I’ve grown quite fond of the last picture, with the eyes closed and the hair in the wind 🙂 the one you used for AtoZ. It’s very cute.

I think if you do change it, people will see the name on the picture and know who it is 😉 I’ve been flirting with the idea of changing my gravatar as well, but having a cheeky hippo giving me the “how you doin'” face seems to brighten up my bad days haha!

  8. Yeah, I’m all for change! I like the one from AtoZ, too, and the coffee mug. I think I’m ready for a change, too…

It’s nice to change it up a bit sometimes I think. I mean do you like wearing the same outfit every single day? Nope, didn’t think so 🙂 I’m kind of digging the pen and paper look but then again, I think she post a picture of yourself because you are amazingly beautiful. But that’s just my opinion, Do you girl!
