Snow gets a lot of hate. I get it. Messy driving, cold feet, wet socks, exhausting shoveling. Hell, I used to live in Maine. I know… it can be kind of a nightmare. But I love when we get the wetter snow… the kind that sticks to everything. It is beautiful.
I’m not much of a photographer, but when it looks like this, I take pictures anyway. So, of course, all pictures are my own.
My yard has a bit of overgrowth. Partly because I did not inherit my mom’s super-gardener genes but also because I love the way the overgrown vines look on the back fence. It reminds me of Highgate Cemetery, one of the most beautiful places in the world.
This is where the lilacs grow… eventually.
I love how some of the branches look like they’re made of only snow.
The giant spider.
The light changed while I moved around… the sun was trying to break through.
It looks kind of blueish…
You’d never know I live 10 minutes from the city…
I wish I had a secret cabin among these trees. No one gets to know about it. Just me.
Who needs street signs? I’ll go anywhere… and enjoy the ride while finding my way home.
Yeah… secret cabin. I need that.
Who says 30°(F) is too cold for a walk? It’s kind of perfect.
And yes, I did want to knock on doors and ask the neighbors to move their cars from my shot. But I’m not that obnoxious. Usually…
Your pictures a pretty.

absolutely.
And I am not drunk. I meant “are pretty,” but you know how those typos and left out words can happen.

These are beautiful pictures!! I love the fresh clean look of new snow! We got a bunch this past week as well and I was taking pictures on my way to work the next day haha

I’m kind of sad that today it’s probably going to hit 40° and lots will melt and we’ll have a slushy mess…

Yeah that’s what we are going to be getting this week as well. It’s already started. It’s totally sad! But then comes spring and better weather 😀

Yes… I do love spring. It tends to have an impact on my mood…

I know a few people who suffer from seasonal depression (not saying you do) and spring always makes their mood better! But i think it helps everyone’s mood. Its warm and sunny and lovely

Oh, I’m sure I have that. Of course, I have it all the time, too… but this adds to it…

Yeah. How are things going btw? Especially since your appointment last week? Stress and anxiety down?

I have some good days but I haven’t really been able to keep them going. Just have this voice in my head always yelling at me telling me the extremely negative things. It won’t shut up. And then I just got some very upsetting news from my sister… like, in the last half hour… so I’m a disaster at the moment.

Great pictures. We haven’t had any significant snow here this season in my part of Tennessee.

Do you usually get much? One recent year, we had a total of over 9 feet for the season!

The most we have gotten in my lifetime is a little over a foot during March one year. It was crazy.

I bet! We’re used to it up here… but sometimes it’s excessive!

Those are gorgeous pictures. I’m really glad we don’t have that kind of snow this year, though!

Thanks! I like it right now… but I won’t be saying that if we’re still getting storms in March…!

Really pretty. I agree that the heavy wet snow is best. Love how it clings to everything. And it’s perfect for snowman building and snowball fights! 😃

Thanks. Oh definitely the snowballs and snowmen… The kids hate when they pick up a bunch and it just falls through their hands like sand!

Me too!!! It sucks when it’s like that. Like, why did it even snow if it’s gonna be like that? 😃

Right… what’s the point? ☺

We had a couple good ones last year, but this year? One snowfall, less than 2″, and dry and un-packable. It was lame. 😏

One of our storms was all powdery. John loved it because shoveling was way easier… but everyone else was totally disappointed… 😀

I don’t shovel. We have zero pavement up near the house and our driveway is two ruts of gravel through a field. My truck makes ruts and the rest either stays or I sweep a path. Shoveling sucks! 😃

We don’t have much choice when we’re buried under 1 to 2 feet of snow… Walking would be hazardous… and we couldn’t drive through it!

I wouldn’t be going anywhere in that case…and one more reason I live south of the Mason/Dixon line. 😃

So jealous! That is gorgeous. I would take one really heavy deep snowfall like that and be done with it at this point. Thanks for sharing!

There’s a little build up from 2 previous storms… But the top 5 inches of perfect sticky stuff was fresh…

Ours is all melted. Going up to 65 on Sunday – that’ll bering out the early flowers.

We might hit 50 this weekend. It’s going to be a sloppy mess!

Yeah I hate that. Then everything gets muddy and dirty. Blech!

Love these! This is the best part about snow. Not the part where you have to drive through it. That part sucks.

Yes… I agree! I get really nervous on on highways in snow due to a bad accident I had in college. My car rolled over 2 times… it was scary as hell… but I only had a minor scratch…!

I’m gonna be totally honest and say this scenery looks nice in pics but totally unappealing. I’m biased toward summer and beach pics. Enjoy!

I’m in the northeast so we do get snow periodically. Dreaming of having a second home someplace warmer (during winters in NYC).

I am farther north… in MA. Having a second home on the beach would be awesome!

I love your winter photos. 30F is not too cold. Almost perfect to keep the snow on the twigs 🙂
