I’m not in a great state of mind. Everything is just… wrong. I guess that’s why I chose something fitting the current state of my life. Well, not a thing. A him.

This man has played a huge role in my life. But don’t blame him for my state of mind… I was like this when he got here. He is my friend. He is my muse. He has been there for me since the day we met… and I still turn to him. He doesn’t try to cheer me up. He just understands. He can make my pain sound beautiful. I think he may be my soulmate.
This first piece was an assignment to use 2 layers — one color, one black. I drew from a picture with lots of shadows… then I simplified it a lot for the print. The best thing about this one…? The guys who were in the studio while I was printing knew exactly who it was. That doesn’t make it great… but it made me feel great.
(It really is much straighter across the top… this is just my lack of photography skills.)
I remember when I stumbled across the photo that inspired this next piece. In fact, I think I still have the old magazine. The picture was perfect for a silhouette. By request, this one has also been screen-printed on a few tee shirts. I probably still have one of those, too…
I’m sure some of you already know who he is… but for anyone who doesn’t… he is Morrissey.
Great pictures! Although, even after you told us who he was I still had to google to figure it out haha

I need to look through some stuff and see if I still have the screen. I must have it somewhere… I never get rid of anything…

Lovely! It kind of reminds me of the pop portrait I did for my art class… I did an acrylic painting of Magnus Bane from Shadowhunters– violet hair, cobalt blue for the shadowy parts of his face, and a warm yellow for the lighter parts.
You should definitely keep going with this!! And try more colours (if possible).

These are from college… years ago. I have many of them… with and without colors. I haven’t done this for years. I have no access to a studio…
