Obviously, John wrote this for me.
I’m not sure I need to say anything more… the song says it all.
Too many shadows in my room
Too many hours in this midnight
Too many corners in my mind
So much to do to set my heart right
Oh, it’s taking so long I could be wrong
I could be ready
Oh, but if I take my heart’s advice
I should assume it’s still unsteady
I am in repair, I am in repair
Stood on the corner for a while
To wait for the wind to blow down on me
Hoping it takes with it my old ways
And brings some brand new luck upon me
Oh, it’s taking so long I could be wrong
I could be ready
Oh, but if I take my heart’s advice
I should assume it’s still unsteady
I am in repair, I am in repair
And now I’m walking in a park
All of the birds they dance below me
Maybe when things turn green again
It will be good to say you know me
I’m not together but I’m getting there
It is not fair – what John Mayer does to women. Sigh….

Would it be surprising to you if I admitted this was my first ever John Mayer song I have heard? Thought it was very good and insightful. Thanks for sharing Sandra.

That’s a bit of a surprise… but it depends what kind of music you like. I’m sure there are things I’ve never heard that would surprise someone!

First name basis with him? Wow! Can I just say: Don’t fall for it! He’s a dog. And a piss poor replacement for my man Jerry. 😃😃

Well, it’s not like I’m going to date him… (although given the opportunity… I can’t say…) so I don’t really care that he’s a dog. I never paid attention to his thing with The Dead… because I’ve never been a fan of them… so yeah. 😃 I like his music… he’s done a few decent covers, but I really only listen to his own stuff.

Not a Dead fan?!? (Gasps and shock)
Anyway, I thought Trey Anastasio was a great pick to do this Dead and Company money-grab (so disappointed in them). Mayer makes little to no sense. But, neither here nor there if you’re not a fan.

I have no idea what a Dead fan would prefer. Honestly, I’ve never understood the whole Dead thing. Or Led Zeppelin. I don’t get that either. My first boyfriend’s brother was a total Deadhead… followed them around… sold tye dyes. (He was amazing at making those! I still have one…) Anyway, sings music is just not my thing. Like 90% of what my 9-year-old daughter listens to. 😄

To each their own. I’m just like the dude you mentioned. Traveled, camped, sold tye-dye…and other things. It was a lifestyle more than anything. I suspect if you’d have attended a show, you’d have become a fan. Their niche was the live performances. Don’t like Zeppelin, the greatest rock band of all-time, either?!? Man.

The funniest thing about that guy was that his name was Kurt and he was a big guy so his nickname was “Truk” — Kurt backwards. Hahaha 😃

Funny! He and I would’ve gotten along just fine. 😃

Words to live by, especially when spring arrives, it always feels like another chance, doesn’t it?

It kind of does. It’s my favorite season…

Yes… One day it’s freezing… then it’s pleasant but before you know it, it’s, like, 90 and humid as hell!
