I accidentally found a list a few days ago… ‘52 weeks of drawings.‘ I read through it and moved on. But it popped into my head later that day. Maybe it’s something I need. Something different. I’d been thinking of finding some sort of 52-week writing challenge… but I already have notes and scribbles all over the place for writing projects. I shouldn’t add another… that would be crazy. And since when do I do anything crazy? (I know… all the time…)
Of course, it’s not like I won’t have words along with my drawings. I can never shut up…
I can’t commit to one drawing style. I think I’m going to experiment… doodles, digital drawings, quick drawings as though I’m playing Pictionary, and I guess… photorealism. To be honest, that’s my least favorite. So, of course, that’s where I began. (I know… I have no idea what’s wrong with me either.)
week 1: artist’s choice
I received a little gift some time ago that I adore. It’s a light. A nightlight. I wish he would come to life.
I am Baymax… your personal healthcare companion.
Awesome job, Sandra! I’d love to see you do 52 weeks of drawing.

Thanks, Rob! I’m going to try to keep up… although the next one is ‘self’… I’m not sure that will go well… I can’t very well post a drawing of my ‘anonymous’ face. Perhaps I’ll choose a different body part. Suggestions?? ☺

Boobies! Yeah! I’ll support you in that decision. 😀 Of course if you’re looking for someone to volunteer in the future… 😉

Haha. 😄 I don’t love “traditional” drawing… I did it in school for two years and hated most of it. I’m not sure how many drawings will be like this one… but who knows? I have not planned ahead at all on this. (And yeah… I was kind of thinking of drawing my boobs… they are one of my best features. Well, two of my best features.)

Then it’s settled! Of course there should be the sketched boobs posted with the real boobs. You know – for purposes of artistic integrity. 😀

Ahem. I didn’t post a picture of my Baymax light to go with this drawing… 😜 Maybe it won’t even be a sketch… maybe a sexy cartoon. Haha!

Hmmm. You can send me all of your ideas and I can let you know which photos, erm, sketch, that I liked best. 😀

Such a kind offer… aren’t you just the sweetest…? And so selfless… 🙂

Thank you. Yes, I strive for being selfless in such matters. 😇

Looks great. Perspective is so hard to recreate. Of course, it’s probably because I suck at sketching, but that’s besides the point. 😊

I did not feel like the legs were quite right but I got sick of trying to fix them. And my family told me it looked like a “professional” drawing.. whatever that means… 😄
LikeLiked by 1 person
Professional, huh? I see that. I get stopping on a piece. Stained glass is like that. The more I fuck around with inside cuts or solder runs the worse it looks. I think his legs look great, by the way. 😃

It’s also nice that my little Baymax light doesn’t have fingers like the real Baymax. ☺ I know what you mean about the stained glass… I find that is true for me with baking/cake decorating — the more I fuck around with it, the worse it gets. I have to force myself to stop expecting perfection and just leave things sometimes!

Yep. When I first started doing the glass, the person who taught me emphasized that immediately. I can still hear her saying, “Quit while you’re ahead, T!”. 20 years of doing it now, and I still haven’t learned. I’m very frustrating. 😃

I’m the same way. I mess with things… and then I wish I’d left then alone because I’m only ruining them!

Well hopefully the prompts will help! I totally loved the AtoZ topic you gave me of Harry Potter. Spent the morning doing a list of all my options for it haha. A simple suggestion but one I never considered! 😏

What an interesting challenge! I was looking at some myself. I think you did well!

Thank you! I really thought I was looking for a writing challenge… and I’m sure I’ll write along with every drawing… but I’m curious how this will turn out…

He’s so cute! What a great idea! My only resolution was to draw more. Maybe I should do a challenge like this so I’ll actually do it. You’re a great artist!

Aww, thanks! It’s been a long time… This will only get me to draw once a week… but that’s more than I’ve been doing. Offline, anyway…!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah, I hardly ever draw now. That’s why the resolution. Though I should probably work on writing since I hardly ever do it… 🤔😁

Less pressure if you feel like you have options… 🙂

Not sure if I’m looking forward to this yet…! I hope I don’t bore people who are here more for the writing. But this is only once a week… (if I keep up…)
I do think I’ll get totally frustrated with myself if I draw like this the whole time. I need to draw in a less realistic style some of the time as I make myself stress due to my ridiculous level of perfectionism. If it’s not meant to look photorealistic, there kind of is no perfect.
Oh, and just don’t compare this drawing to your stuff! (See how I conveniently chose a subject with no major details…ha!) 🙂

Doodling and cartooning is a lot of fun, too. Try a whole range of sketching. I won’t compare! That gets weird anyway! We’ll both approach it in our own unique styles.

I’m no cartoonist… I’m really better with other forms of art… like not true drawing at all. I’m going to look around for some unusual styles/options. Maybe. 😃

Thanks! I hope it doesn’t get boring. Maybe I will look at some of my writing and draw things or people from there… Hm… I just thought of that… could be interesting… maybe!
