This poem is dedicated to someone who always makes me smile, even if unintentionally.
I have no idea if you know who you are… but I know who you are. Thank you.
Last night or was it early this morning?
I went to sleep in denial
Desperately hoping for another’s life
Never thought I’d find my smile
I dragged myself out of bed hopelessly
When unwelcome morning came
Heavy pain like a lead weight on my chest
Not new… just more of the same
Nothing can truly take it all from me
It will never disappear
But with your sweetness, you lighten the load
You help me forget my fears
In these moments, though few, I feel sunshine
Even when windows catch rain
Though I confess it hasn’t happened yet
I’d love to feel that always…
Beautiful, Sandra!! 🙂

Even though it doesn’t fix the bad things, it gives me a break from them… if only for a little while. Now this lovely one needs to jump out of the internet and move next door… ♥

I think whopping great piles of money would literally solve all of my problems. Yeah, it’d cause me a whole new bunch, but a change is as good as a rest! 🙂

Enormous piles of money (and Flynn?) would literally solve all of mine, too. I don’t care if it creates new ones… I desperately want the current ones gone! Moving to Flynn’s dream island sounds good, too. With him. Translated into a live human man. 🙂

I thought it was harsh to tell him that his dream sucked… he just wanted the means to pay for the cool stuff, rather than directly wishing for cool stuff. Islands for everyone!

Woo! I’ll pack my bags! Oh, wait, no I won’t! I’ll just get better stuff! Or, well, depending on my island companion, I may not need anything! 🙂

Everyone should be so lucky to have the friend that keeps you smiling…and supplied. 😃

The thing is… I’d be willing to bet money (that I don’t have…) that this friend has absolutely no idea… which is kind of amazing. But I guess it also means it could vanish at any time. (Wow, I am dark, huh?) Supplier would be another sunshine-y friend. 🙂

The best people have no idea they are that awesome. That’s rare nowadays. By the way, I heard a quote today, by Teddy Roosevelt, that made me think of you: “Believe you can, and you’re halfway there.”
Change your mindset, change your direction. Stay positive, and good things tend to happen. Now, feel free to tell me to shut the fuck up in three, two, …… 😃

😛 Well, it’s a bit cliché and preachy for me… and I’ve heard it before. But I get where you’re coming from. 🙂
And yeah, sure, a positive attitude would help… but those little quotes always leave out the essential part – how does one flip a switch and suddenly “believe she can”? One cannot just decide to think a certain way and do it. Well, maybe some people can (but I think that’s BS). It’s like saying “with a million dollars, you can make another million”… Great! Where do I get the first million?? I can tell myself to be positive 50 times a day… and I will be able to do it 0 times… therein lies the issue… the very one I’m working on…

🙂 I’m sorry! Did I sound bitchy? I didn’t mean to. I know you want good things for me and it means a lot to me that you’d even give me a thought when you’re not here!

Nah. Just good points. I hate cliche shit too. But I do believe in the power of believing you “can”, having confidence, and just doing it, risk or not. More times than not, it leads to good. Gotta be up to the individual though. Nobody can do it for somebody.

I think it comes naturally to some to believe in themselves… to have confidence. But I guess I didn’t get that particular ability. Thus the weekly meetings to learn it with Mr. T. (No, not that Mr. T… no mohawk or gold chains…)

He’d probably be a great motivator though. “I pity da foo who don’t believe in themselves!!!”.

Aw, this was so lovely! I’m glad you have someone to make you smile everyday. (And I hope you’ve had either French toast or fried chicken since we’ve last talked 😀)

Oh, unfortunately, I don’t have contact with that ‘someone’ every day. People have lives, I guess. You know, people other than me. 😛 (Alas, no french toast or fried chicken yet… but I think I’m going to have to fix that soon. I should probably buy some cinnamon bread… that would make delicious french toast…)

Psshh, who needs an outside life when they can live vicariously through other bloggers? Haha. Here lately, I know I’ve been choosing tv over blog stuff, which probably isn’t a good thing. Maybe that’s how it is for the “someone” too.
Ohhh I love cinnamon bread! I especially like the kind with raisins in it. Are you going to drop me as your friend now that I said that? A lot of people really hate raisins…
LikeLiked by 1 person
No, definitely not! I love cinnamon bread with raisins or without. What I really want is this big fat swirly cinnamon bread I saw at a farmstand — it’s not even sliced yet… I can make my french toast as fat (or not fat) as I want… Of course, when I make this perfect breakfast, I have no idea what my family is going to eat because I am not going to want to share. I’ll just give them the Cheerios.
I really wish I had cinnamon bread right now. Maybe I will make some cinnamon toast. Because that’s a good snack to have at 12:15am…

Oh lord, you have me dying for cinnamon bread now! That bread from the farmstand sounds amazing. That’s all I want for dinner now – just a pile of warm homemade bread. That, and some butter. Drool.

You know… this one time I made cinnamon swirl pancakes. I prefer french toast to pancakes but these were amazing.

I prefer French toast too! I’ve had pancakes similar to that and you’re right, they’re so good. Plus, cinnamon is healthy for you, so it’s basically a nutritious meal 🙂

The cinnamon / brown sugar / butter swirl… I could have just eaten that with a spoon. 🙂 Hm… I have to make those again. 😀

Sometimes someone just seems to say the right thing… and I know it’s not even intentional and I’m not even sure why it’s the right thing… it just is.
And I do really wish I could have these friends closer…

Yes, it’s weird how that works sometimes. I know what you mean…no matter how many friendships you have online, they still don’t measure up to close face-t0-face friendships.

I miss that… a ‘best friend’ who I can talk to anytime… meet for coffee… get a real-live hug… and not even get sick of me no matter how many bad days I have. I haven’t had that for a long time…

Aww, that’s so sweet. I am really touched by the friendships I have here. I wish there were easy answers to the bad parts of my life… and that someone was going to jump in with those answers at any moment… but I am so glad I have support here. Not sure what I’d do without it…

Of course I would totally do that! And hey, if you ever want to ‘talk’… email me! I know I seem like a whiny bitch half the time (at least…) but having lovely friends who care… and being able to be there for others, too… well, those are good things. 🙂
