I don’t know if this is a true ‘perk’… but what the hell. At least it’s funny…
the perk.
[no longer weekly… just whenever-the-fuck-I-feel-like-it… or need it?]
My daughter and I had an interesting exchange this afternoon. I don’t even remember how the topic came up…
me: Do you know how they churn butter? Have you ever seen the thing they use?
my daughter: Yeah, we saw that at [a colonial village historical site]. They said that’s how they did it in the 80s. Did you do that when you were a kid?
me: How the hell old do you think I am? I’m sure they meant the 1880s, honey…
In other news, dinner has to be prepared. Nightly! Can you believe that? I think the universe expects an awful lot from me. At least my corn is having fun…
Sometimes, you get something for nothing. Seriously, that’s a thing. It’s never a great thing but hell, it’s free. Who am I to say no? My husband brought home this free gift from his trip to the hardware store… scissors! Wooo!
Btu I don’t need any scissors. I told him to keep them.
But I’ll take the package…
Oh, haha, thanks for a good laugh. I’m surprised you didn’t draw on the package … think you’ve been eating too much quick and steamy corn! 🙂

I will never look at a pair of scissors the same way again… lol 😂 and I still have to go shopping for school supplies.

Free scissors in a package that doens’t require scissors to open it!? That’s amazing!!
Great perk Sandra! Had me giggling all the way through

What is it with meals needing to be prepared every single day? It’s so tiring, and I don’t even have other people to cook for 😉.
I had a good chuckle about your saucy scissors and steamy corn!

Haha… and tonight… we got pizza. 😀 Glad to provide a laugh!

That sounds delicious, and best of all – you didn’t have to make it! 😀

I didn’t even make the phone call. Or pay. 🙂

See, that’s what stops me from ordering pizza haha. I can make the call (or order offline), but the idea of interacting with a stranger at my front door gives me pause haha. You’ve got it made!

Oh… my husband does it… But he refuses to pay for delivery… or tip for it… he picks it up!

Awesome packaging! I do believe you have a one-track mind… 😉

Yeah… there is probably something wrong with me… 🙂

Naaah, most (if not all) of us are obsessed with one thing or another. Olympic athletes also have one-track minds, don’t they? 🙂

Haha. I think I have a few obsessions… besides that one. Peanut butter comes to mind… 🙂

Mmmm…I LOVE peanut butter! I have toast with peanut butter a couple of times as week. 🙂

I just ate that. Seriously… just now. Which is terrible since it’s about midnight. And now I want to wash it down with ice cream… 🙂

I usually do… I really should work on my sleep schedule. But it’s so much easier to write when the kids are asleep!

I saw this and had to jump in. That’s my breakfast most days of the week! Sometimes with a glass of chocolate milk 😊

One day, I made the mistake of making my kids peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on toasted cinnamon bread. Now… they want it that way all the time… And they’d want chocolate milk with that for sure!

Ohhh that sounds interesting! I have to try sprinkling a little cinnamon on my breakfast tomorrow. Nutella on cinnamon bread is also amazing – no surprise there.

Yeah – not surprise. Nutella on cardboard is good, too.

I really wanted coffee with mine… but it’s kind of late for coffee… even for me. Although I do keep decaf on hand for these ’emergencies’… 🙂

I’m not a coffee drinker, so I’m not sure how I feel about the combination of coffee and PB haha.

I drink coffee with pretty much everything, so many combinations I make are probably gross. 😀

You are hilarious! I love that exchange with you and your daughter; it is so funny that they make us historical contemporaries with folks like Rutherford B. Hayes! LOL!!!!

I get the same stuff from my daughter! Every year we look at the Harvest Moon and I was explaining the reasoning behind calling it the Harvest Moon and she said, “So were you happy to have extra light to get the crops in?”
Girl, I hollered with laughter!
I said, “Baby, neither me nor your granddaddy picked crops!”

I do like a nice package. Ahem. (I had to look back at this post to remind myself why one would say those words to me… as I do not have a ‘package’, so to speak.)

Girl packages are waaaaay nicer than guy packages in my opinion but I worked with what I had.

From an artistic standpoint, I agree with you there… but from other perspectives, I’m going to have to go the other way…
