You whisper the perfect words
Make my insides warm and tingly
Your smile makes me blush
I know what you’re thinking
I crawl across the bed
To give you everything
You take it
And you give back to me.
But none of it is real.
With a yawn I open my eyes
Wishing my dream never ended
My hand covers my sad heart
My sigh nearly brings tears
I turn my head on the pillow
And see you lying beside me
Your eyes open
And you reach for me.
Everything is real.

About what sandra thinks
Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.
Ah, not a dream but a perfect ending. Loved this.

Thank you… I was determined to have something with a happy ending… get my head out of whatever messed up place it’s been in!

Nice fall and rise to this… Just when you’re sad at the ‘ending’ you take it back into the light! Wonderful! ❤

Ahh, see? Sometimes I’m not completely pessimistic. Who knew? 🙂

Well of course you’re not always pessimistic! You have too good a sense humor! 🙂

(Psst… I must admit, though, it seems the happy endings are always the ones that are fiction… Okay, that’s sad… I’ve ruined the mood…!)

Aw…. Fiction sometimes ruins real life for us. But the purpose of reading is to escape, to be transported… So there’s often a crash when we come back to reality. Sigh, I know what you mean!

Crash. Yes. I’m going to spend as much time as possible today writing the fiction I’m working on that is basically my dream life. I’m hoping for a total break with reality. See you at the funny farm.

For today, I think that’s a great idea. The sun is shining, the temperature is rising, get outside and enjoy the day and dream up some steamy romance! I’m editing today!

What do you mean for today? I wanna stay in my fantasy world forever! (insert winning) Oh… I’m not sure I want to go outside… It’s going to be 90°! I might melt. 😀

Oh, stop! 😀

I’m all for the spring sunshine, but 90 is kinda hot. I may burst into flames. 😀

If I had my own pool, I’d be all over that. Though the water would be damn cold. Unless I had the proper partner with whom I could heat things up…

But ahem… shrinkage! LOL! Our pool temp is 66… WAY too cold yet. I am hoping with a couple hot days and the solar cover it’ll be warm enough by the weekend.

I can fix that. The shrinkage part. Aahhhahaha… I’m going to hell.

Beautifully done – the shift between reality and dream. Life is so grand when the subtle shift from one to another (dream/reality) almost feels like one in the same.

What do you mean? That’s me and a really hot guy. Ha! No.. it’s not. I’m not sure where I got that picture… I go to a billion free stock photo sites all the time. The dots in the middle and the little heart… I made those. But there are sites with free vector art, too.

Lol! I’m thinking of writing some um… HOT flash fiction for fun and need graphics/CC photos to match!😊

I had a site with a list of free stock photo sites… I really thought I had bookmarked a link to a page that listed a bunch of those sites but I can’t find it! Just google “free stock photos”… there are some good ones out there.
