The delicious aroma of the freshly baked croissants wafted through the near-empty café. I knew I should leave but I didn’t want to be alone in my flat. I’d been away for months and I missed him. My time in Paris was perfect – with one exception. Being without him. ‘I’ll be home soon,’ I told him when we spoke that afternoon. But I wanted soon to be now.
With a sigh of loneliness, I thanked the girl who supported my latte habit and stepped outside into the evening. I tried to convince myself I could make it through one last week. Seven more days. God I miss him. Another sigh, this time with tears. I watched my feet step over the cobblestones until I clumsily bumped into someone. ‘Je suis désolé,’ I mumbled as I looked up from my feet.
And he grabbed my face in his hands and kissed me like he was making up for every moment we had been apart.
Oh, I love it! What a great challenge and a lovely happy ending *sigh*

Me too… I know sometimes it’s predictable but I don’t care! It makes me happy. ♥

Predictable is good. It makes us all happy. Keep doing it! 🙂

🙂 I guess even if you know where something it’s going, reading how it gets there is kind of the best part…

It sure is. It’s all in the small details that makes it so delicious … 🙂

Thanks! 🙂 I seem to write a lot of sad poetry but when I write fiction, I have trouble writing any ending other than a happy one! ♥

Loved this. That lust and loved filled kiss made this worthwhile. That is how it feels when we have longed for the moment of coming together once again. Beautiful.

No… I can practically smell it… 🙂 (Psst… you know, I actually have a whole piece of fiction – a long one – where the girl goes to pastry school in Paris… and I had the best time ever researching everything… too bad I couldn’t do the research in person!!)

You can’t be serious….. My book 4 introduces a character that went to culinary school and then opened a French bakery here at home! She’s not the main character but book 5 is her story! Maybe you should co-author with me! 😃

Yes… mine had been working at a bakery for years, finally was able to go off to Paris to become a pastry chef… and then opened her own French bakery back here. WOW.
But… since my story is not finished… and has detoured into directionlessness (probably not a word)… I don’t know if I will ever be able to do anything “real” with it.
There is something a bit unique about this particular piece of writing, though. Which I will share with you privately sometime… 🙂

It’s a secret… a kind of embarrassing one… so I won’t share to everyone, but I will share with you sometime. ‘Cause you are special and I’m pretty sure you won’t laugh at me. Much. 🙂

Maybe I should say I won’t mind if you laugh at me… but wouldn’t want the world to do that. Hahaha 😀
