mother: a limerick.

mother.

mother.
We would fight with each other
When she made me feel smothered
But now I am grown

With kids of my own
And I have turned into my mother.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms!

Mind and Life Matters limerick poetry challenge – prompt: mother

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

Great twist for a limerick… not a great moment in life though, when you realise it!

  6. It’s so cool when mothers and daughters have that kind of bond! It’s not my experience unfortunately… I was close with my Dad instead. So enjoy your mom, cherish your little ones, and have a wonderful day today! 😃

  8. Pretty much the story of most mothers and daughters! We grow up thinking we want to be different but most times we end up a mother like them! 😛
