I walked out my front door yesterday and saw a mysterious giant glowing orb in the sky. Initially, I thought I needed to call for emergency backup. But then I remembered what that weird blinding light was.
The Sun.
Oh, I exaggerate. It hasn’t been raining for that long. But damn, it feels like it’s been gray for weeks. It has really been bringing me down. It’s had help from other junk, sure. But enough already!
So yesterday afternoon, once finished with my bi-annual parent-teacher conferences, I spent a little time outside. With no jacket… which was not appropriate. Sure, the sun was finally out but it was only 50°(F). I didn’t really care. I just wanted to document the sun in case it disappears again and I have to describe it to future generations.
[Side perk – Both of my kids are smart little angels in school. A or A+ for everything, kind, helpful, conscientious, polite… I walk out of there feeling like parent of the year! And then I get home and they’re fighting about who touched whom first. Bahahaa!]
Sunshine.
See?! Shadows! The sun makes those. (Yes, I know my lawn is terribly dead.)
The daffodils… they were all perky for, oh, a day… then they drooped with the rain. But they’re still bright. And yellow. I dislike yellow. But… flower.
Behind our house, we have a messy, woodsy drop that lands at the edge of a giant pond. Besides the raging squirrel population back there, we often see geese, ducks, blue jays, cardinals, a really f-ing annoying woodpecker, rabbits, deer, and I’m probably forgetting something else we’ve seen. But today, it just looks dead. Spring hasn’t yet made it green and pretty but I still love looking at the water.
I nearly blinded myself for this one. I know, I’m brilliant. But… the sun! Our GIANT pine tree… and the sun. And the vapor trail left behind by a jet. [Or vapour trail for the Brits… and Ride (see below)]
I suppose I must concede that even Ms. Darkness (that’s me) loves sunshine.
Here’s the Vapour Trail…
I love the pictures .. if I had so many trees and a pond in my yard I would be perky 24*7!

Haha… It’s kind of rare around here, too, only 10 minutes from the city… 🙂 Now if only the house would miraculously double in size… 😀

If you own the wood then build a tree house. You can move the kids in there and have the whole house to yourselves!

That sounds great. I’ll put it on my husband’s task list. Ha! 😀

We have an “F’ing” woodpecker too. He’s obnoxious. Glad you got some sun!

Thanks! And sorry about your woodpecker!

Yes! We’re in that same weather pattern as you guys. Except I’m stuck inside at an effing seminar today! Kill me now! 😩

😦 I’m sorry. If it makes you feel any better, today the sun is shining again, but I’ve only been outside to go get groceries and to pick up the kids from school. Then inside… homework. AND we have to take the kids to a book fair at their school tonight. Blah!

I’m sorry! That bites. I do have windows… Perhaps now would be a good time to faint or vomit or something? 😀

Gotta pretend one of them looks just like… uh… Tom Hiddleston? (He was on Late Night/Seth Meyers last night so I guess he’s in my head…lol)

Even my hay-like crispy lawn? Haha! Conveniently, my house shows in none of those photos. 😀 No, it’s a fine house, really. It’s just way too small for us and the cost of doing anything about that is prohibitive around here.

Hahaha… it’s funny because the guy who lives next door is out there mowing and primping his lawn ALL the time. I swear, he kneels down with tweezers or something. 😀 😀 😀
