a to z? because I’m crazy.

a to z challenge.

I have decided to participate in the April A to Z challenge. I considered this a little while ago but abandoned the idea. But it’s back now because of Meg. When I saw her post about it today, I opened my big mouth (or typing fingers) and she encouraged me to participate. And here I am. So this is really all her fault!

a to z theme.

Today is also the day to announce a theme, if I have one. I was going to choose something kind of specific, but I’ve decided to make it easier on myself. My theme is small. Not a small theme. Small is the theme. Little, short, tiny, petite, miniature… small.

Tiny poems, very short stories, little pieces of my own life. I’m really not sure yet.

Suggestions and requests welcome! If you think of a word of inspiration for any letter of the alphabet, please let me know. [You can contact me here or leave a comment on this or any post or email me.] I would love that — thoughts from anyone… everyone.

So… what’s something fun and interesting that starts with A? Hm. I wonder what it means that the first thing popped into my head was adult.

(By the way, I’m sure these challenge posts will be in addition to my regular posts.)

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

Sure, blame it on somebody else! :-D. Your theme is intriguing. This is my first year and I chose The Golden Age of Hollywood.

  3. Well, if your theme is gonna be small, tiny, etc, the obvious “A” would be ant. I’ll run it past my wife, we’ll come up with a better suggestion. 🙂

Good for you for jumping into the challenge “this late in the game” so to speak! First year I did this I signed up 3 days before it and had no idea really what I was getting into. It is a great adventure; crazy at times, but a fun way to meet fellow bloggers. Your theme is a great one; keep it short and simple I always say 🙂

    • Thanks…. Of course I know I’m going to break my ‘one post a day rule’! But these will be short… 🙂

      • In the days leading up to Valentine’s I was doing two a day. But like you I try to adhere to the one post a day. I am grateful for anyone who takes the time to stop by and read my work. I don’t want to make life difficult for my friends and followers with 12 posts a day. Don’t worry we will read your posts.

        • I know what you mean — I follow some blogs that post multiple times a day (like 5 or more) and it’s hard to keep up!

I kind of already started writing these… well, one so far. I think staying a little ahead of the alphabet will help lots! And they’ll be short, of course, so quick to read. 🙂

The theme is small. Ha! Make it easier on yourself, right? 26 “small” posts shouldn’t be that bad. 😀
Looking forward to reading your tiny poems and short, short stories.

Good luck! I was thinking of doing it too but decided against it as I’m not ready. Looking forward to your posts!

  13. Small is the theme? Wow, why did I not think of this before!
    All the best to you!

Can you please put up the A to Z challenge badge on your blog though instead of this post?

    Thank you!

    • I did not know the badge was required. I did not see that anywhere on the challenge rules/description. Also, you said “instead of” my post?? So you are asking new to delete my post sharing my participation and theme? I’m not going to delete my post. Everyone I know who’s doing the challenge has a post saying they’re participating and what their theme is…
