fate.

fate.

I believe in magic
And in kindred souls
A person for every person
We all get one

If I am uncertain
I have found my person
Then I have not
Because when I do
Fires will blaze
Warming me
From deep inside
Thoughts will coincide
As if he reads my mind
My body will tremble
Just because he is near
All things will balance
In a harmonious union
And I will not question
A single thing

Because I will know
I have found the one

I believe in torment
In a connection fated
A person for every person
But I found mine too late
messy heart.

About what sandra thinks

Sandra is a writer, sometimes blogger, poet, artist, emotional disaster. She thinks far too much and sleeps far too little. Sandra lives in the Northeastern U.S. but dreams of an oceanfront home in Italy, but she would settle for a non-oceanfront home in Italy. She loves books, brutal honesty, coffee, and the color black. She hates insincerity, beer, whipped cream, and facebook. And she is uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.

  4. Once you get past the whole arsonist part, this is beautiful. I like to think everyone has the special someone where souls connect. Are they mean to find one another? Perhaps like you say, sometimes too late. Great poem.

  5. That is a heart twisting feeling, finding “the one” too late. Although, I came across an article about the fallacy of “soul mates” and I promised it to Drew too. And then of course I promptly forgot about it! I hope this is not autobiographical! 😩

  6. Ah indeed. The one who touches a part inside of us that no other has ever touched…a part that will always be theirs regardless of whether you are together. Very powerful.

  7. Is there only one true soul mate? Couldn’t there be dozens of combinations that would make us happy? And if we did find that soul mate, wouldn’t we still wonder what if?

  8. There’s always hope for connecting with the kindred spirit, no matter where you find yourself. This was moving and I liked it very much.

Nooooo.. The last line! Why did you have to do that!
However, IMHO, I think this is your best poem ever. SO magical.
