Stop this thing! Let me off!
Crazy roller coasters — love them! But these things scare the hell out of me!

I feel like this on the teacup ride but my kids make me go on the biggest roller coasters! Thanks for entering the challenge again, good luck!

I think my fear of heights makes me afraid on ferris wheels or anything like them. And I get dizzy on them. But somehow my fear of heights doesn’t stop me from loving roller coasters!

The Ferris Wheel reminds me of a story. Many years ago, I was at an amusement park with Ann Bancroft and we decided to ride the wheel. After an appropriate time, we descended to leave, but the operator kept us going. Every time we were set to get out, he started us up again. Evidently, he was having fun with us, but we were getting tired of it. “Listen,” said Ann, “the next time we descend, pretend we’re getting sick to our stomachs.” So we did, and operator let us out immediately.

That’s a great story! I have been on one ferris wheel in my life and I felt like I was going to be sick within seconds of the ride moving! I never would have lasted as long as you did!
Also… Do you mean the Anne Bancroft??

Yes. Sorry I forgot the “e” on her first name. It was during the days that I worked for Desilu Studios as a publicist. A mutual friend came into town, and the three of us spent a couple of evenings together. One of them was at the now defunct Pacific Ocean Park where we rode the rides and had a great time in the Fun House. She was, besides talented, witty and down-to-earth. I’m glad I had a chance to meet her on such familiar grounds.

On my blog, I have written stories about the old Hollywood days, if you are interested in that genre. Because I grew up with a theatre and entertainment family and also worked in the industry as an adult, I was privileged to meet some wonderful people.
